Great color and easy application
I love the color and although it seemed a bit thin at first, it went and dried great. I usually get impatient while my nails are drying and cause smudges or dents, but, not with this.My wife suggested OPI and I thank her for doing so. Definitely an OPI guy now.Updt: The pics are of a single coat of Samoan Sand, I added a second coat 2 days later. I bent/broke a nail working outside as I have weak nails, but, no chips after 4 days.Update: I've read several other reviews stating that this dries 'streaky. I had similar issues at first myself. I learned to apply it with a minimum of strokes and let it go. I seems to get streaky when you play with it and attempt to touch things up. I'm really learning patience w/this stuff.. ;-)

I am a new to "soak-off Gel polish." After getting such a manicure at a salon, I was convinced that I could do this process at home. Viewing quite a few how-to videos and reading every article comparing these polishes prepared me for purchasing polishes and an Led lamp. I used a wheel of plastic nails to practice. OPI's 'Samoan Sand' and Gelish's 'Forever Beauty' where the two polishes I purchased. The OPI 'Samoan Sand' had a thinner consistency and was, therefore, easier for me, the beginner to apply evenly. The two colors are, of course, not comparable, but they are in the same shade family I prefer. I found the 'Forever Beauty' shade more to my liking but ended up covering two coats of 'FB' with 2 coats of 'SS'. I cured the base coat for 30 seconds, each coat of polish for 30 seconds in a 24 W Led lamp and the top coat at 1 minute. There are NO chips or scratches or imperfections on the nails after more than a week in spite of working in the garden, cutting down two trees, trimming boxwood bushes, planting 200 tulip bulbs and 10 allium bulbs in addition of doing all kinds of heavy painting, sanding wood, and doing housework--ALL tasks done without wearing work gloves. All in all, I am truly impressed by the OPI Samoan Sand (a good subdued color to compliment my clothes, fair skin, and suitable for my age), and I have already ordered an additional OPI color. If I can locate other OPI subdued colors, I will certainly order them. As it is, the majority of the OPI colors I viewed were more vivid than I prefer them to be.

FYI, for those with a very light brown skin tone with yellow undertones, here is my evaluation on how some of the colors looked against my skin tone.

Samoan Sand: 4/5
It was a little lighter than what I wanted, but it still is a really beautiful neutral tone that will be great for anyone who wants a fresh clean manicure.

OPI RED 4/5
It was a bit more of a pink red than I wanted, but it still is very nice and is a really pretty spring time shade.

I love this color. When I think of nude, this is the exact color that I imagine. I’m not sure why it’s so hard to find a nail polish that is nude without looking pink. This is it! It stayed on really well. My only complaint is that it is so sheer that I had to put on tooooooo many coats. It didn’t really seem to get to thick or wear weird.
