I have been meaning to try the Professor Layton games for quite a while--before I even bought my 3DS. Close friends and family members all told me that this was a great buy! So finally, after debating if it was worth it, I purchased The Miracle Mask.

I was skeptical at first because I am NOT a patient person. If I can't solve something within 20-30 minutes, I will just give up and dump the game. However, the puzzles in this game are totally solvable even for an average person like me with a patience level of 3. Upon starting the game, I automatically knew I would like it because of the awesome movie-quality of the graphics, the ever-adorable character Luke, and the gracious Emmy. The first couple of puzzles were a breeze, but as they increased they got more difficult but were still exciting to solve. There are also NUMEROUS chances to use "hint coins." or to find "hint coins," so I never felt like I would run out.

I absolutely adored the story-line, so much that I wish I could have skipped all the puzzles and just found out right away what was behind "The Miracle Mask." But I made myself complete as many puzzles as I could. It took me a good 2 months to get through the ENTIRE game, because I would just play for an hour here or there. It was definitely worth my time and it was certainly entertaining. I look forward to the next installment in this series.

I am a 46 year old mother of 5, and my kids don't speak English, so I sit and do these discs with them translating all the way. I must say, this was the best disc so far (and I have done all the discs). Better graphics, more engaging story plot, better puzzles, better ending! (I mean this disc is supposed to be for kids.) There were a bit of unsavory elements (like some seller in a booth trying to come on to Emmy all the time and making suggestive comments, etc.)This was done in other discs (why do they have to have a brothel in a childrens disc???) But basically it is a sweet disc. My kids loved it, and it was fun and slightly challenging. Hints are better too (in case you can't figure it out, they will just about tell you the answer.) I think it is a great buy!

I have played the Professor Layton series since day one and this recent entry did not disappoint. The graphics have been improved for 3DS standards (though it looks a little awkward at first), you now use your stylus to move around the environment (again, awkward at first) and like any Professor Layton game, the story sucks you right in. The main draw here however are the puzzles. They are as challenging and fun to solve as the previous installments. There are over 150 puzzles here to solve plus daily puzzles that can be downloaded which is pretty nifty. I did notice however that some of the puzzles were rehashed from previous installments.

If you like the Layton series or a game with brain teasers, then this game is for you. Just be warned that some of the puzzles may/will have you baffled for hours on end.

This game is fantastic. If you're a fan of the Professor Layton series this is definitely one you should try out. What I liked about this one is that you go back and forth between the present and the past, so you get to see the Professor back in his high school days and solve puzzles there. It's very cute! The puzzles are interesting and fun and the storyline is just as interesting as the other previous Professor Layton games. I have a hard time putting this game down. They make good use of the 3D effect of the 3DS, though personally the 3D tends to hurt my eyes on all games, so I keep it turned off. When it's on, though, the backgrounds are even more stunning. If you've played the previous games, you know how beautiful the backgrounds are made and this game is no exception! All around, excellent game, would definitely recommend it!

It's all story. There's nothing really to do. I spent a hour on it thinking eventually it will get to riddles and things as it suggests it does is go through a ridiculously drawn out story. I did 3 activities and I'm pretty sure I didn't even need to think to do them. NOT a fun game at all. Wouldn't recommend unless you were looking to waste some money.

As puzzle addicts, my friends and I bought this game expecting yet another classic Layton series game. As most of you know, there are usually several mini games that are included with the main game. We grew closer to despair as items started populating the professors trunk and there were no pet to name in sight. Just as we were all about to R/Q, light dawned upon us. Our faith in level 5 was once again rewarded with a name-able trainable circus rabbits that looked derpier than a several generation of inbreed slowpoke; The game went from 0/10 to 10/10 instantly.Thank you Layton, you gave me purpose in life once again.

P.S. *spoilers* the rom-com in this game between lay(ed)ton and luke(lewd) is pretty top tier, its a well known fact that Layton is not only an archaeology professor, but also a professor of doki-doki-love that processes the ability to make anyone's heart ache and head spin. Several level above Love+, amagami, and arguably katawa shoujo (unless you play the emi route).
