First-time Juicer
Top reviews from the United States

- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2012I have had this juicer for the past month. I use it every day, which means I clean it every day, so as a first comment, as other reviewers have noted, it is very easy to clean. Sometimes I rinse the components off and soak in soapy water, and other times I rinse it and place in dishwasher. Very easy. I compost the pulp. Since I am new to juicing, I did a lot of research since the vast array of products and price points was mind-boggling. I was looking for and entry-level, basic unit -- I'm not doing wheat grass -- just carrots, celeriac, celery, cucumbers, ginger root. This product works great.
Pros:
- Easy to clean. I unlock the top part in its entirety and stick it straight in the sink, so there aren't pieces of pulp around the motor area or countertop.
- The black plastic and stainless steel component parts don't show stain of carrot juice
- Nothing ever spurts out.
- It's fast.
- It's loud in a whirring/grinding sound, but it's only only for a minute at most, and it's not ear-splitting by any stretch. The coffee grinder is louder.
- It's very stable on the counter, does not move or vibrate.
- The mouth piece is large enough that most carrots can go straight in as is without further chopping.
Cons:
- The pulp is moist and other reviewers had noted that they regrind the pulp, but this seems low-yield to me for the effort.
- I only do a single serving at a time, maybe 2 at most, so I can imagine that you need to remove pulp fairly frequently if you are doing a mass batch of juice. But the juice is meant to be consumed within a day, and very likely best consumed right after it's made.
- I recall other reviewers had mentioned that this juicer froths, and it does do this, but this doesn't strike me as a negative, it's very minor, but if this characteristic bothers you, know that it does froth up a bit.
- Waring provides a small brush to clean the juice wheel, but I use a larger brush that works better. You do have to give this piece a good scrub to remove particles, but it's not a big deal.
- I have never tried this with fruits or non-crisp veggies, and I believe these would yield less successful results in this juicer.
- I go through a lot of raw veggies, which means the crisper in the refridgerator is constantly stuffed to the gills! And yes, every mornign there's a bit of prep to chop up the celeriac, cut off carrot heads, cut up cucumbers. But these issues aren't necessarily specific to this particular product alone!
So the bottom line for me was to get started with a basic, affordable (you can't beat $50) juicer that is easy to use and clean and would not break the bank, and this absolutely does the trick. I don't see a reason to upgrade to fancier, more expensive juicers, unless I move into wheat grass.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2012After considering juicing for several months, I finally decided on this model as my very first juicer. I knew I wanted an extractor type rather than a citrus or masticator juicer, but was leery of the lower price of this model. Would it be a disappointment, would it break after 2 or 3 uses, would I wish I had spent $100-150? Would I even like carrot juice or would I lose interest after one or two attempts? Well, I have been delighted all the way around with this juicer and the whole juicing experience. First, right out of the box, it is easy to put together. The product manual is simple but thorough, including easy to understand instructions on how to assemble and clean it. (No recipes however.) The black plastic is sturdy, and the stainless steel cup for collecting the juice is nice and easy to grasp. I have arthritis in my hands and these parts snap together and apart very easily with no strain on my hands. Easier than my blender actually.
The juicing process: the chute will hold 2 large or 3 medium size carrots at a time, takes only seconds for each group to be juiced. No splashing of juice all over countertops either. Veggies I have used include carrots, beets, celery, and I have done apples, all with great results. I love the taste of the fresh juice.
Pulp: I can juice a 2lb bag of carrots without having to empty the pulp. Might could do more, but I don't think it would hold 2 2lb bags worth. I found a good recipe for carrot muffins to utilize the pulp (delicious). It comes out pretty dry to me and I'm happy with the quantity of juice I get.
Cleanup: OK - takes a bit longer than some reviewers state. The juicer blade gets pulpy and needs to be cleaned well after each batch of veggies with a scrub brush. If you don't, it looks like it might eventually get kind of clogged. The plastic and stainless parts wash up very easily, and the whole unit can be wiped off with a damp rag. Cleanup IS easy, it just takes maybe 10 minutes rather than 3-5 minutes, counting drying off the parts and putting the unit away in pantry.
Other supplies I use: I bought a couple sizes of mason jars with the banded lids to store my juices in the fridge for a day or two. A bottle brush to get the carrot-y residue off the inside of jars, and a veggie scrubbing brush with handle to clean the veggies in sinkful of water before juicing.
BOTTOM LINE: this is an excellent juicer! I can't imagine I'm missing anything by not spending that extra $100 - just doesn't seem necessary to spend that much. This one will work for me for quite some time to come.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2015This was our first juicer and we didn't want to spend 200+ for something we weren't sure we were going to like. I think we spend a tad over 50 clams for this unit. So far, we've used it about 1/2 dozen times or so. I enjoy the juice from the various vegetables we've juiced. Here are some interesting factoids I've found out about vegetable juicing. Soft veggies don't work very well, such as Kale or Spinach or leafy-type veggies. Hard vegetables like carrots and celery work great. Cucumbers work good too, but you have to go through a lot of cukes for not so much juice, although it tastes the best. After almost 2 months, I pretty much just stick with celery, carrots and cucumbers and I juice alternate weekends. On the positive side of things, this juicer has contributed to our mostly vegetarian diet, which I've been on for over a month. Whether or not we get into a serious juicer in the future is unknown, but for now this was a small investment at exploring the juicing option. I want to list some pros and cons.
Pros:
Easy to take apart.
Easy cleanup
Easy to reassemble
Low cost (around 50 or so)
Cons:
Doesn't work well with soft veggies.
Seems to waste a lot of pulp.
Insertion hole is too small for certain vegetables, which may need to be sliced into thinner slices.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good juicer for the price
This is a great beginner juicer! I wanted to try it out first to see if I would use a juicer or if it would just collect dust...I love having fresh juice and find the taste great. I just find that the leftover grinds from my Fruits and veggies are still very wet and not as well juiced as they could be. For occasional juicing the price and juice is great. If you intend to this everyday then perhaps a higher power or different model would be best.

Not very happy with this product, it’s hard to clean and u have to cut the fruits , I tried to return the product and it was costing me $50 to return as I’m in Canada and that’s almost the cost of the juicer , soo disappointing
