Not as advertised ! I was very disappointed! I literally got a completely different pssstt dry shampoo it was the citrus one for volume!! Not anywhere as good as the original. Seller needs to update the photo
I have used a lot of dry shampoos and this one has taken the cake, so far. I have dark blonde hair that gets oily quick. When I apply this dry shampoo, it does not leave a white residue or shade on my hair. What I like most about it is that it does not make my hair gritty or stiff. Sometimes I like the texture that dry shampoo can give but on a regular, everyday basis, I just like dry shampoo to absorb the excess oils and still have movement and fluidity to my hair. The smell is a light, clean smell but it does not linger in my hair. For those who are scent sensitive, I think this would be okay for you. Also, a bonus, the size of the dry shampoo lasts me a looong time because I do no need a lot of product to accomplish what I want. Give this stuff a shot!
I broke down and ordered a replacement on amazon after trying desperately to find it locally. This dry shampoo works the best out of many others I have tried both salon grade and lower end brands. I wish I could find it in stores.
I hate using dry shampoo - it does not do anything to my hair that resembles what it looks or feels like after I use real shampoo - but the fact of the matter is I have to use it. I have pretty oily roots, but don't like to wash it every day because the ends are so dry from highlights, blow dries, and flat irons. To avoid washing out my color quickly and maintaining moisture in my hair - I aim to wash it every other day. On the in between days, I spray some of this stuff at the roots, let it dry, and then shake out all the powder. I won't say my hair looks and feels sparkling clean, but it certainly absorbs the oil and allows me to go out in public without shame and humiliation. I've tried many other cans of this stuff, but they all leave my hair feeling like straw, or they don't do anything to help the oil. This was recommended to me by my colorist, and I'm glad I tried it. It's cheap and it works.
I'm disabled, bedfast, getting a bit worse... I felt like an ugly pig with dirty hair, because no dry shampoo seemed to be working. But Oh, halleluia! This stuff works works great! My scalp stopped itching and my hair smells great (very vaguely coconutishly) and *feels* clean. Color is bright (I'm vain about being a redhead) and shiney. Yay! No dulling at all, though I imagine it might be easy to use too much product and cause a problem with residue. We spray it on, thoroughly massage it in, then rub-a-dub off with a thick terry washcloth before brushing it out and styling. Every so often we rush me into the shower for a quick spray-down/lather-up of my head with castille soap and a light vinegar rinse.
This stuff makes your hair look fuller and shinier. Sometimes I use it when my hair is still clean just because I like the way it makes my hair look. I don't have greasy hair so I don't have to wash my hair every day. Pssssst is a great product for in between washes.
3 stars because while I routinely use this, I caution getting it from Amazon. I've never had a problem with a can I purchased in a store, but the can I purchased from Amazon I had trouble getting a consistent spray and had to shake the can many times, or tilt my head down and hold it upside down, to get it to spray.
As for the product - I usually spray it on my hair, at the hairline, the night before and sleep on it, and in the morning my hair doesn't look oily. My hair is dark and by morning the product is not visible (I got that tip online, the only downside is it does rub off on the pillow case). I usually wash my hair every other morning with a sulfate free shampoo and with this it looks good each day. Using it in the morning, I would use it sparingly to start and tousle your hair a bit to work it into your scalp - both to absorb oil and to help it be less visible. Pantene has one that is less effort to work in but honestly I think this brand works better.
Overall, I love the product, but I'm going back to buying it in store.
I have fine, limp hair. Anytime I put on a hat or go a little longer than I should without a shower, it's greasy, flat hair time. This stuff is a great stopgap to help your hair look great in a hurry! And I tend to get quite a few uses out of a can, maybe 8 or 10?
Recession update: My friend asked me about my Psst!, and then showed me that I could get the same effects by just sprinkling baby powder liberally into my hair (I do it over the bathtub) and brushing it through my hair. It works, and is many many times cheaper, but you do end up fighting a ton of static, and sometimes I get the powder application a little uneven to start with... I am looking forward to the economy picking up, so I can afford my Pssst! again!
