My family is all about food and design.

We all agree: This toaster is the very best.

Design: slick and clean. Provides easy access to the toasted bread since the toaster is angled and easily accessible, even when located on a counter under a kitchen cabinet (as is often the case in modern kitchens.)

Function: Flawless -- speedy heating, accurate controls, pops finished toast up well above the frame so you can easily access without danger of burning yourself! We love it!

I really like my toaster. It does toast quickly which is awesome. You can put a single piece of toast in either side. I use it exclusively to toast gluten free bread. My only complaint is that the middle of the bread does not toast as nicely as the outer edges. However, that could be the nature of the g/f bread. When I broil g/f bread in the oven the edges burn and the middle stays pale.
This T-fal High Speed Toaster is a far better alternative to broiling and much faster!! I have the same toaster in the 4 slice style for regular bread which is what prompted me to buy this one for gluten free toast.

I bought this toaster because it was rated the fastest, well it work well for the first week or so and now sometimes you have to push it down again to finish or one side is not toasted as much as the other. It's just an ok toaster. I would try a different one if this is how long this works as claimed! Just a few weeks.
One year old and a piece of junk! levers don't pop the toast and it takes forever to toast anything. Already needs to be replaced.

We had an earlier generation T-fal toaster. After nearly 15 years, it died. As stainless is all the rage, we thought we would upgrade. The positives, the toaster looks really sharp and is easy to use. The negatives, the dials feel cheap, the lift assist lever barely pushes anything up out of the toaster (you still have to dig in there with a fork to retrieve muffins and bagels), and it doesnt toast as well. Lastly, we unpackaged our toaster, it was missing the crumb tray; fortunately, the manufacturer was able to send one, no questions asked. In short, I think T-Fal needs to go back to the drawing board on this unit.

After trying this toaster for a month, I returned it because of it's consistently sub-par performance. Produced dramatically uneven toasting for one in any price range. One side comes out nicely toasted while the other side is only warm with little noticeable browning. A nice feature is the little lever on right side which gives your slice a final lift so you don't have to stick your fingers (or other dangerous object) in to retrieve your piece of toast. Unfortunately, it doesn't lift the piece of toast quite far enough for smaller sizes of bread. Overall, a nice looking poor performing toaster if it were only twenty dollars, but at this price range, your paying a lot for that stainless steel look.

This toaster is beautiful in its brushed metal finish ... and it works as well as it looks! Everything is easy to use - the adjustment is simple and easy for really nice looking slices of toast. There is even a small lever on the right side to lift the bread out when it is finished toasting. Only one complaint ... the opening for the bread could be a little larger since my whole wheat bread needs to be pushed in since the opening is slightly too small for it to just slide in by itself; a small issue since with a little push it works anyway.

This toaster does an excellent job of toasting if you use the correct setting. The "Stop" pop up feature allows you to toast a bit longer and stop whenever you like. The style and look is excellent and the extra wide slots are perfect for larger foods like bagels and thick sliced bread. Also, the price is excellent and I would recommend this to anyone.

This is an excellent toaster. It's simple and functional, makes perfect toast, bagels, English muffins, even frozen waffles! The slot is wide enough for bagels or buns. Its sleek, narrow design is perfect for the space on my counter. I would highly recommend this.

It arrived very quickly, and works pretty well. It toasts fairly evenly.... And as long as I remember to stop the toasting manually, then the toast won't fly across the room and onto the floor. It's overall a very good toaster. Super strong and sturdy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well now, but only after I performed "toaster surgery" on it
Reviewed in Canada on November 26, 2017
Decent quality for $50. I've tried toasters costing hundreds of dollars and ones costing $15. They can all burn your toast. Compared to the $15 toaster, this has a higher density and more even spacing of the heating element wires, however, I noticed that some of them were flat to the non-conductive backer board, and some were raised off. Unfortunately this creates uneven heating because the wires that are pulled flat against the backer board don't heat up as quickly and don't seem to get as red hot as the ones that are raised off and not touching the backer board. The solution I found was to use a thin and slim bladed pairing knife to gently pry all the wire loops evenly off the backer board so that they all look the same (note: with the toaster unplugged!). I took about 30 mins, and I had to check my progress by plugging in the toaster and looking to see which wire sections were still not getting as red hot as the others. And, I was careful not to forget to unplug the toaster before resuming the "toaster surgery". I just wish companies that made toasters would put a bit more effort into making them heat up evenly. In the end, I managed to get all the heating wire elements to be about the same so that the heat is even throughout.

Bagel button: Otherwise, I like the bagel function which turns off the outside heating elements in both toasting slots so that you can prevent the outside of a cut bagel from burning before the exposed inside portion gets properly toasted.

Reheat button: This seems to just initiate a shorter heating cycle that bypasses the main timer. All the elements come one, but for less time.

Stop button: The other button on the toaster is a "Stop" button, which is the only way to end the toasting cycle prematurely. However, hitting the stop button also releases the catch that holds the toast slots down. It does not gracefully rise, it launches upward rather abruptly. It's not launching my toast out, but I wish it had a slow rise mechanism that wasn't so violent and loud. There is also no way to raise up the toast mid-cycle to check on its progress, you have to hit stop and then restart it if you want to continue. The "raise toast" lever (the smaller one on the right side of the toaster) is only for when the toast is at the top and the cycle is off. It also doesn't raise the toast up by very much so I don't find it very useful.

The finish on the toaster is good looking though, stainless steel. I expect to get quite a few years out of it. It's definitely better than my last $15 toaster, but marginally. The crusts on my bread still burn before the insides toasts, but that is more likely due to the type of bread. We have smart TV's and smart phones now and I think it's time for a digital "smart" toaster that toasts to perfection without burning any portion.

Bought this toaster to replace an Avante classic toaster broke after 11 years of use (once or twice daily, that's a lot of toasts and bagels). The look is amazing. The picture does not do the toaster justice. It is not white or glossy but really more matt stainless steel. The toaster inherited all the Avante classic great features: 1200W for quick toasting, even distribution of heat, and my favoriate bagel mode. Looking forward to another 10 years of usage.

It's ok for the $40 paid, bit pricey still, but I guess you're paying for the funky design.
It toasts bread and bagels. It works and looks interesting, that's it.
    There is no defrost.
