    I bought this for my grandson for Christmas and he was absolutely thrilled when he opened it! His favorite thing to do inside, is draw, color and paint! This has it all! I bought a plastic carrying case at a craft store for him to store everything in so he can keep it all together and away from his twin sisters! This was a great buy and great quality items!

    I purchased two of these, one for my three year old and one for a gift. My three year old loves it. So much in the box for the price that I paid($17.50)
    The crayons seem to be lasting a very long time and there are lots of different paper products. Would definitely buy again

    This is a great kit for younger kids. The crayons are thick and easy for little hands to hold. The pencils have really nice color that transfers to paper with little pressure (again, good for little hands). The items all came packaged separately which seemed like a waste of plastic, but that's just a minor complaint.

    Our two main criticisms are that 1) rather than all that extra packaging it would be nice if all the items (crayons, pencils, paper, etc.) simply came in one large case into which it could all be put back after use and stored; and 2) the pencils are very thick and the tips wear down quickly--it would have been very helpful if a pencil sharpener were included to fit these pencils. You may have to go to a specialty art store to find the right sized sharpener to keep these pencils ready for use.

    Those criticisms aside, this is a high quality drawing kit for kids.

    This is a great art set for little hands. M&D have pulled together all of the best parts of their line into one art set, which our little ones enjoy. All of the components are high quality, durable, and tons of fun for kids. I do think this set could be cobbled together on your own for less money, though. That's the only drawback. If you want the ease of getting all of the pieces at once, this is a great set. If you're fine with piecing it together yourself, no doubt it would cost less.

    Everything included here is quality, as you would expect from a Melissa and Doug product. But for this amount of money, you could certainly get all of these items for _considerably_ less expense. I think this kind of packaging works well for a gift, in those situations where you don't mind paying a few extra dollars to have everything just right. One star off, because a rating ought to be relative to the value. If price is no object, you should consider this 5-star.
