This is the best probiotic I ever used. It has so many purposes. I have recommended this product to a lot of people and they find it extremely helpful. I will share a couple of most important benefits.
1. Digestive Aid for Elderly or those with digestive issues. Everyday food we eat is a constant battle for our digestive system. The older we get, the less probiotic we have in our digestive system. So when you are at the point or age where you just cannot seem to eat anymore. You have a very serious digestive issue. I and others have took this probiotic everyday for a month or more to replenish the probiotic and it solved our digestive issues. We were able to eat normally and enjoy our food without dreading for digestive issues. Particularly the elderly... it turned their life around
2. Digestive Issues. Myself... I have tested this many times and every time it solved my problem. I am very sensitive to improperly cooked food... some of you think it's just indigestion... for me, it's food poisoning. If left untreated, I will suffer agony and just cannot eat for a day. You know what I am talking about... that gut wrenching pain. So, whenever I feel like something is wrong, I immediately take one or two capsules. Within 30 minutes, I feel relief and after one hour, It's like nothing happened... everything is A ok.
If you happened to suffer pain already, it still works. It takes a bit longer but the pain will go away and you will feel better soon. I don't use anything else for any digestive issues... no antacid, no OTC stomach acid reducers, not even pink bismuth (used to be my favorite)... this probiotic is even better than any of these combined.
Sometime, we all need some prescribed antibiotic for some reason... and if you haven't figure it out yet... 'biotic' is the same and anti means killing all 'biotics.' Most of us feel something is wrong with our digestive system after taking this drug... You need to replenish the probiotic in your digestive system. Doctors recommends taking probiotic 3 hours before or 3 hours after taking medicine... not all tell you this. You don't want your medicine to eliminate the probiotic hence the wait time.
3. It is just so versatile for most needs because it contains a variety of probiotics rather than just one or two types as most probiotics are. I have read some of the reviews... Just because you are taking probiotic does not means you can eat whatever you want... all those greasy foods, eating enormous amount of food all the time, etc. It does help but that is not the main purpose. You want to eat healthy. If your stomach is grumbling after you eat... perhaps you need to reexamine your diet.
One other comment I read... about being lactose intolerant... I do suffer from that so I rarely eat dairy food... but just the other day, I was eating pizza... As usual... I take two "Lactaid" supplement or equivalent and have my slices of pizza... Usually when I eat pizza with lactaid, it helps but I still get bloated. However, this time, I added Optima to the mix and I was surprised that I didn't suffer from bloating. It's interesting. I was amazed. Still, there is only so much pizza you can eat before lactose intolerant catches up with you again.
I've been taking these for about 1.5 months, and so far it seems to be helpful. I've used quite a few probiotics to varying levels of success, so I decided to try these because it says it has prebiotics and probiotics as well as enzymatic support. I like that they are plant based, which makes me feel like I'm not putting too many artificially derived supplements into my body.
In terms of effectiveness and without giving TMI, I do feel like they've helped in making my digestion better. I think, of course, that a big factor in healthy digestion is diet and exercise, of which I'm no saint. If you have issues with constipation or an intestinal disorder like I have, then it is worth a try.
I think it is hard to compare various probiotics to each other because everyone's body is different and each person will respond somewhat differently. One person might not be able to handle a probiotic with 15 billion bacteria, while another person might think 60 billion is not enough. However, I haven't had any real adverse side effects to this one, so I figure if you are someone who subscribes to the benefits of probiotics, then this shouldn't harm you.
Another note, I've noticed that I've tended to adjust to a certain probiotic if I've taken it for a long period of time, whether it be Align, Florastor, Phillip's Colon Health, Ultimate Flora, etc. My GI doctor recommended I rotate probiotics to keep them effective, so I usually use one until it seems like it's not as effective, and then I switch to something else.
The only thing I haven't liked as much is that I get some nasty burps shortly after taking these. It doesn't last long, but it is unpleasant. However, I have to preface it by saying that I also take Rainbow Light's Prenantal One at the same time and it could be those, but I haven't yet taken them separately to see which is the culprit. Just be warned there's a possibility it could be from these.
It seems working for me. I called the Rainbow Light's customer support to ask if I may take the product with warm water but I failed to get an answer. I would be happier if I can get an answer on my question so that I would know how to take the product with my picky stomach.
Very disappointing, I have taken a Pro-biotic many times and this is ineffective! This is my 3rd day with zero effect... I like Advanced Enzyme System so much better...if there is a Pro-bio in it, must me a scant amount... I do not recommend this at all...
The price was great for these enzymes, but I found the whole foods brand to work better for me. I didn't notice a difference in my digestion when I used this. Milk was problematic when I used these, but I could consume some milk with the Whole foods brand Enzymes without any trouble. I really wanted to love these for the convenience of amazon prime, but I didn't.
This enzyme blend has worked great for me so far. Before I used enzyme supplements, I often experienced bloating, gas, and sometimes stomach ache after eating meals, especially those with lots of vegetables, dairy, and some proteins. I've tried a number of enzyme supplements and this one is my favorite so far. It seems to work fast, and doesn't taste bad at all (Some have a word taste/smell, I've noticed). Even though you're supposed to take it just before meals, sometimes I forget and take one immediately after eating... And it still helps a lot. (But for maximum effect, you SHOULD try to remember to take it BEFORE meals, so ask the enzymes are ready to go in your stomach by the time food is introduced.)
