Description
They say for most people that doing is learning — being told how to do something, or even shown, isn't nearly as effective as jumping right in and giving it a try for yourself. Learning to play the guitar certainly applies to this principle, and hands-on, on-the-go sessions are the most effective way to elevate your skills. Whether you're a novice picking up the guitar for the very first time or an old hand fine-tuning your technique, Rocksmith gets you results fast, by putting the guitar in your hands, plugging into your console and getting the party started. Rocksmith 2014 Edition takes the same proven methods of the original edition and enhances them for a fruitful learning experience that will soon have you riffing with the best of 'em.Newly designed for an enriched, re-imagined experience, Rocksmith 2014 Edition features new menus and in-game interfaces for clear, smooth and blazing-fast learning. Receive feedback and play along with more than 50 hit tracks, from alternative rock to heavy metal to classic rock and more. If you own the original Rocksmith, the 2014 Edition is backward compatible with those songs as well for a rich library of tracks you know and love. Designed for ease and speed, the features are more accessible and flexible than ever, allowing you to select your section, difficulty and speed on-the-fly in the fully customizable Riff Repeater mode. Experience a revamped Master mode that is more approachable to learn songs by memory. When you want to ease the pressure a bit, jump over to the Guitarcade for more than 10 mini games that will help you have fun while honing your skills. I owned this game for PC before I got an Xbox One. It was fun on the computer but much better on the Xbox. I can't honestly say it has taught me to play guitar but I have enjoyed pretending I could play by using the game.

This game is AWESOME! It's a game yet you're actually LEARNING an instrument?! I think alot of people will be disappointed if they have never played an instrument before. This is not guitar hero, you are actually learning how to play the guitar.
It comes full of lessons starting from how to pick, sliding, to learning chords. My best recommendation with this would be, give it time. Keep playing 30 minutes to an hour a day. Don't get discouraged after a 2-3 weeks if you've never played before, you'll start to play songs and then something magical happens while you're fumbling through a song and you get it. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to learn guitar, whether they have played another instrument or not!

It's fun AND you learn how to play the guitar.
I picked up a used guitar from the pawn shop, plugged it in, and was learning from the start.
You start off learning all the basics and slowly move up. This is great for beginners and experts alike because you can also skip ahead to more challenging portions of the game.
This is a great way to get kids interested in music. You learn so much in such a short amount of time.
5 Stars doesn't even speak high enough for this.
I would still recommend picking it up when it goes on sale. 80 bucks is great for the game, but saving a little on it to spend more on a guitar is better.

Rocksmith 2014 is so much fun and makes it much easier to learn songs. The upgrades to the in song tools make it easy to learn parts you struggle with and it takes you at your pace. Plus it let's you get all the songs from the previous game, sadly not for free. If you have an electric guitar collecting dust, or if you just got your first beat up six-string from the second hand store, or bass guitar, Rocksmith 2014 can teach you more songs to impress your friends. It also has a studio option that allows you to make your own tunes, but when I tried that it seemed a bit clunky. Another improvement on this latest version is it allows you to choose to play lead or rhythm guitar so you can learn the parts of the song you wanna learn and improve the techniques you wanna improve. Deffinately worth every penny, if anything just for the cord alone!

Let's be honest no video game is going to make you a great guitar player. I've never had a lesson in my life and even after playing RS I still suck, really bad. I don't think that's the point though, it is supposed to be fun, and it is. I don't have 100 hours to put into this and probably that's what it really takes to see some kind of ability to play. I am getting what I want out of it though.

I love this game! It has a lot of great songs with more available for download. The game let's you work on drills or attempt songs. The game will recommend portions of the song to practice and suggest other drills to help you improve. As you learn more of the song additional notes are added. The only thing it doesn't do is put the practice time in for you.

This game makes it really fun to learn to play guitar. I think this is aimed more toward beginning guitar players. I think that more advanced players won't get as much out of it. Although it would still be fun to play for guitar players of the entire spectrum.

This is by far one of the most fun (and cheapest) ways to start learning how to play some of your favorite songs- both classic and new! I highly recommend this to gamers who would like to try and build some guitar/bass skills!
