Special blocks keep the gameplay fresh and interesting for hours of enjoyment.
Product description
The critically-acclaimed puzzle game makes it was to the Kindle Fire! Slydris is a unique and engaging puzzle game with a simple premise but deceptively deep gameplay.
*** Slide and drop blocks to create full lines of blocks. *** Create combos of falling blocks and clearing lines to fill up your bomb meter faster. *** Create a row of a single color for a color burster. *** Other special blocks (Shatter, Upcoming, Locked, and Magnet) add gameplay variety and challenge.
THREE FANTASTIC MODES: Infinite Mode, Zen Mode, and Survival Mode:
*** INFINITE: a new set of blocks drops after every move you make, so take as much time as you want. Clear 25 lines to move onto the next level.
*** ZEN: functions similarly to Infinite Mode, but the difficulty is more dynamic, there are no achievements or scores to worry about, and your game will never end.
*** SURVIVAL: you have 10 seconds to make as many moves as you can to clear the lines of blocks, then a barrage of blocks will drop, and the cycle begins again. Quick thinking and nimble fingers are required to do well.

I downloaded this when it was FAOTD, but it took me about a month to actually try it. Once I did, I wondered what took me so long!
This game is somewhat tetris-like in the basic mechanics - different shapes fall from the top of the screen and you try to fill entire rows to make them disappear from the playing field, so that there is room for new shapes to fall.
There are lots of differences between this and tetris, however; the key one in my opinion that makes it more enjoyable is that you have all the time you need. In a sense this is a turn-based game. You make a move and blocks fall down, but nothing happens until you do make a move. The pace is as fast as you want it to be. To me that is what makes this one more playable than tetris, and if you don't like tetris, you MIGHT actually enjoy this (depending on what it is you don't like about tetris). For those who like time pressure, there is a survival mode where blocks fall every 10 seconds whether you've moved or not.
The progression of difficulty in infinite mode (play till you lose) is just right. Rather than speeding up, the game adds larger blocks (making it harder to fill small gaps) and some special blocks that have different effects and add challenge (such as the 'magnet' that doesn't fall; all you can do is destroy it by filling its line). There is a good mix of luck and skill involved, and when you lose, there is a big feeling of "I want to try that again." You can play for a short time and pause and come back to where you were, or you can lose yourself and find you've been playing for an hour straight.
If there is one downside, it may be that there is a limited amount of playability. Once you get to a certain level, you've encountered all the 'special' bricks that there are, you've got some strategies worked out, and the difficulty is just increasing by increasing the quantity of blocks that fall, and some of the fun just goes out of it because there's nothing new to be accomplished.
Visually the game is appealing. I always mute games so I won't comment on the music or sound effects.
I'd say it's worth buying and will give you several hours of enjoyable play.
As most reviewers has already pointed out the game resembles the classic tetris game in many ways. This game does take 35.4MB (considerably large) of your device's storage and installs just fine on Kindle as well as other Android Samsung tablets. The game works only in 'portrait' mode, while it does not fully utilize the screen size in this fashion but still very much enjoyable.
The game starts in tutorial mode and walks you thru' the rules of the game which I find very useful. The graphics are smooth and you can surely waste some time sliding blocks especially in the "Zen" mode. After playing for about an hour I find this is not very spectacular but not very bad either at the same time. Having said, for the offered price of $2 I think it is on the little 'expensive' side. It should be 99c to remain competitive with games of similar style as there are many similar games in this category to compete with.
Have you ever played Tetris and wished you could move around the pieces you've already placed? This is Slydris in a nutshell. A short but thorough tutorial gets you started. The premise is simple: slide the pieces at the top before they fall, or slide the already fallen pieces at the bottom. Complete a row to make it disappear.
There are three game modes: Zen, which has no timer; Infinite, which is what I would consider the"regular" version; and Survival, which has you racing the clock to clear the bottom rows before a ton of blocks fall and make life difficult. There are, as usual with this genre of game, combos and chain bonuses, and the game ends when you totally fill the screen.
The game is somewhat customizable: you can choose between three music options, three color schemes (with a "color blind" option, which seems to reverse the colors, but I could be wrong) and the aforementioned three game modes. The colors are vibrant without being overwhelming, and the music is not any more annoying than most similar games and better than some. Slydris also uses Game Circle, if you're into keeping score.
Is it worth the buck to play? All in all, I think this is a pretty fun game. The problem is that there is a LOT of competition in this genre. I'm going to go ahead and say that I would pay the asking price for this game. There's nothing groundbreaking here, but it's a good time waster and the permissions aren't ridiculous. That by itself is worth the download, in my opinion. Since this is the FAOTD today, I would definitely recommend it. For free, you have nothing to lose. I may just keep this game around for a while, and at the rate that I delete these free games, that says a lot.
This is a fun game with falling blocks in the mode of Tetris. The blocks fill up the bottom of the screen, but when a row is completely filled it is cleared. As in Tetris, you try to clear the rows fast enough to keep the screen from filling up to the top, in which case it's game over. Slydris differs from Tetris in that you can slide pieces from side to side after they have already landed. And the game waits while you decide which piece to slide, before dropping the next group of pieces. This makes it more of a strategy game than a quick finger test. Also you can move a piece itself or you can move another piece below it and let the first one fall into its place. Take as much time as you want to figure out what to do, but be aware that any long-term strategy that takes more than a few moves may be foiled by the next group of falling blocks. And things are complicated further by special blocks that either refuse to move or to fall, or cause other blocks to break apart. Game play and controls are fine, since all you have to do is touch a block and move it to the side. You get a few choices of music and color scheme, and a couple of variations on the game mode as well.
Realmente entretenido y adictivo. Gráficos y sonido muy bien ejecutados, muy visual y atractivo todo. Me he pasado jugando durante dos semanas hasta superar todos los retos en el modo Infinite. Lo único a mejorar el consumo de batería.
