    WSP has closed Facebook group. I asked to member "What scents can you suggest for new WSP users?"
    Most of member's answers included this "Tobacco".
    I was not sure it was real answer. Because I'm not smoker. I don't like cigarette burning smell.
    However, I had introduced WSP soap in my Japanese blog. So I made decision to check this one as responsibility as a writer.
    Then, I have shaved with this Tobacco soap. Yes, amazing smell.
    It is not cigarette smell, tobacco leaf and bay leaf. And fern scent combined both. Great combination.
    All of sent are works as base note. It means it's smell never changed. When opened rid, loaded soap. face lathered, shaved and then longed scent. Every time same good scent smelled.
    And it is also extremely well as shaving soap. With small water, it provide good protection and slickness. It is optimal to shave with a razor has sharp cutting edge.
    Or add more water. Protection will go down a bit, however keep slickness. You can use a razor with soft cutting edge.
    You must try this.

    I bought the Blackbeard scent, and absolutely LOVED it. So much that I also bought the matching cologne. There are two reasons I didn't buy that scent again: 1. They have so many wonderful scents I wanted to try others, and 2. they don't make it in the Model T variety, which after trying several samples I've come to prefer. I've also tried samples of Gaelic Tweed, Tobacco, Black Amber and Vanille. When I ran out of Blackbeard, I purchased the Model T Bay Rum scent and I love it as well. I plan to buy as many of these scents as I can, as I don't always like to use the same one every morning, but the WSP shaving soaps are always my preferred go to.

    Let me start by saying I love this shaving soap! I’ve been buying it exclusively since 2017 and from a quality standpoint it’s five stars. However there are two issues I have that make it a four star product to me right now.

    1.Cost. When I started buy this soap it was $15. I know we’ve had inflation and prices naturally go up, but this is not a recent price increase. At $30, I’m going to start looking at alternatives
    2. They changed to a plastic container sometime over the last year instead of metal. I thought maybe it was a temporary supply chain issue, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. I preferred the metal tin for several reason but primarily because I’m trying to eliminate unnecessary plastic where I can. The new container isn’t even recyclable. :(

    Like I said, love the product but these changes have got me thinking it’s time to explore alternatives.

    Received my Mahogany scent WSP soap last week. And after using handmade soap from the local farmers market for the last 2 months I can say I am so happy to be back with real shave soap again. I finally understand the frequently used description "cushiony". It definitely is, and also very slick. I like the scent a lot but as with the other scents I've used, after I use any astringent and aftershave the smell of the soap itself is long gone, but it is nice while shaving. I would recommend.
    As a side note I forgot how thirsty this soap is, so don't forget to use a lot of water.

    thin lather, stays wet though. stings when you get razor burn, smells great, though. would be a great bath soap. Part 2. I found out that my skin was sensitive to the fragrance of tobacco flower. Exploring these soaps will always be a hit and miss, I guess, but I still love that smell. However, I have to bring my four stars down to three because the lather wasn't really that great. It didn't help open up the hairs before shaving as much as some of the other brands I have tried and reviewed on Amazon. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your purchase, and if you choose these soaps, make sure you really hydrate your face first, then perhaps you will have a great shave ahead of you.

    Not a whole lot to say that hasn't been said by other reviewers. Been shaving with a double edge razor for over 20 years now. Tried just about every shaving soap, cream, foam, gel, on the market. Now that I've found this, not going to be trying others for quite some time. Been using this stuff about a year now and looking forward to trying some of the other scents (Tobacco & Mahogany so far, and both smell amazing). If you're thinking about it, quit wasting your time.     I am new to wet shaving so this is the first shave soap I have tried. I have been using it for about a month and think its GREAT! It lathers easily and quickly right inside the nice tin container. Works nicely during the shave. I really enjoy the distinctive Tobacco smell. It is distinctive and NOT a flowery-type smell which I don't like. For me it's a kind of "old-timey" classic smell. Overall I definitely recommend.
