- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2014Let me start by saying that I'm not a controller person. I'm primarily a PC gamer and I'm very used to mouse and keyboard for most games I play. However, I do have a Playstation 3 and there are a few games that I've been playing recently that are meant to be played with a controller. I plugged in my PS3 controller to my PC, installed a special driver and used a special tool to make it work. I found that I didn't like the way it felt after a while and my thumbs kept slipping off the sticks. So I set out to find a new controller, everywhere I looked said the Xbox 360 controller was the best. First I bought a Rock Candy from Gamestop, and then I ordered the real thing. I was disappointed with it. The sticks on the 360 are stiff, which makes it hard to aim precisely, have terrible drift (they don't stay centered) and what's more is they squeak! I thought it was defective but I ordered a replacement and it was the same. That was when I figured I'd try the Xbox one controller. This thing feels amazing. The shape is great, the buttons are great, it looks good and the sticks are PERFECT. There's almost no resistance to them, and I checked Windows calibration with raw data checked and they're usually dead center or only about 2% off give or take, whereas the 360 controller was up to 8% off. In either case, the deadzone will take care of it, but this just shows that the 360 controller has a much higher tendency to drift than the One controller does. I recommend this controller to anyone looking for a great controller, I think the price tag is worth it if you've spent a lot of time looking a controller and just couldn't find one that feels right.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2025Most durable controller I've ever owned. Had probably 6 Xbox 360 controllers, 4 PS3 controllers, all of them had stick drift problems over the years, but this one has been functioning perfectly for 10 years. Only complaint is the build quality isn't quite as good as the old 360 controllers. The grip housing is just cheap plastic snap-on piece that squeaks a lot when you grip the controller.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2016Having had my previous Xbox 360 controller for many, many years, there came a night where my graceful girlfriend put the full weight of her pristine figure on top of it and cracked the casing. Surely this was due to shoddy workmanship and not from the white whale who had capsized the vessel with which I could game. I digress.
After receiving this upgrade in the mail, it was like Christmas. The quality of the controller shines in your hands. The feeling, the grip, the buttons, the small details, everything works to make this quite possibly the best controller ever. I don't own an xbox/xbone and use the controller soley for PC gaming. Hell, if I could use it on my PS4 I probably would.
The control sticks are much tighter and have much better grip and feeling in use. They are slightly smaller, as are the buttons, in comparison to the 360 controller. This takes a bit getting used to but I actually favor the changes. The triggers on top are tight and work well. It actually seems like they have less play than the previous version, it's like everything has been downsized very slightly in order to be more efficient.
It works. I'd personally save and go for the wireless adaptor version, but this version works if you don't want to worry about recharging batteries or if cords don't bother you.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2015**UPDATE**
This controller has vibrations in the triggers. It feels weird because I normally don't feel them while I'm using the controller on my PC. Imagine my surprise when I felt the controller triggers vibrating while I was playing Forza 6 on my PC. The impulse triggers work for that game on Windows 10. I hope to see this work on Halo for pc as well.
**UPDATE**
Apparently there is a technique into using the Xbox controller properly, a simple search on YouTube will show you how. In summary, you hold the controller in your hands resting both left and right index fingers on top of the the left and right triggers and keep them there while playing. Once you need to push Left bumper or Right Bumper, simply SLIDE your index finger over to it. This takes a bit of effort to get use to. I'm still sticking to my 4/5 rating.
Also, the rumbles in the triggers are working but not for PC games. The rumbles in the trigger only work when connected to Xbox One it seems.
**UPDATE**
Should you buy it?
Hmmm, if you have a 360 controller already and nothing is wrong with it, then short answer; Nah!
If you don't have a 360 controller, then I would definitely recommend this one as the one to buy!
Nothing is wrong with my 360 controller that I still got hooked up to my PC from ancient times, but my friend has a Xbox One with One Controller to only play single player games. Finally I got both the 360 controller and Xbox One Controller plugged in my PC, tried them both for a few hours and here are my thoughts so far.
Now, this controller I can easily say looks and feels great in my hands. Yes it is lighter than the 360 controller, and yes the D-pad feels a lot better to use. Here's the thing, the right and left bumpers do feel different, feels like clicking a mouse button. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH HOW YOU PRESS THEM AS THEY WILL BREAK!!!!!!!! The triggers are a lot better to press this time around. The VERY good thing about it is now I can go over my friend's home and with 2x AA batteries, I simply hold down the Wi-Fi button on the controller and IT PICKS UP FOR HIS XBOX ONE!!!! Yay!
That's where the differences stop. This is the same Xbox 360 controller folks which is a very good thing. [Though it would be cool if I could use it to turn on my PC].
One more thing; for some of the games I play on the PC, the games will lean more on the 360 controller as the default controller when I want to use the Xbox One controller. Maybe it's because both controllers are plugged in at the same time. I hope I can fix that soon or my PC is trying to tell me something.
**UPDATE: I got it to work now however, I have been warned to be very careful on how I press the left and right bumpers as they are easy to break. Yikes!
*UPDATE*
Xbox One Controller not working properly after Windows 10 Upgrade FIXED
my Xbox One controller is having a problem with this game. it is like a button is being perminatly pushed. Used to work fine on windows 8.
also having the same issue with Oddworld
**fixed**
Hi all
I have managed to resolve the issue for me on my computer.
With the controller plugged in go to your device manager.
at the bottom the is a Xbox Peripherals container.
On my PC the controller listed was listed as Xbox Controller
I right clicked on this and clicked update Driver Software, then browse for driver and then pick from a list.
My PC had 4 listed in the compatible hardware
Microsoft Xbox One Controller
Xbox Controller
Xbox Gaming Device Version 10.x
Xbox Gaming Device Version 6.2.x
I selected xbox one controller and this seems to have done the trick.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best performing controller + cant beat the price
Review for the Microsoft Xbox one Wired PC Controller: First off i would like to update this review for those who want to play emulators: The triggers respond differently then xbox 360 controllers. what i mean is if you want to play emulators, this controller will give you problems unfortunately. you will get this issue where the left or right trigger will act as if its always pressed, the XBOX 360 controller DOES NOT have this problem and i can confirm this. So if you plan on playing emulators i recommend OFFICIAL XBOX 360 controller. Now, on with the review:
I have used the Xbox 360 wired, Xbox 360 Afterglow and XB1 controllers on both PC and console and i have to say that out of the three, i am most satisfied with the XB1 controller. If you are coming from a xbox 360 controller you will notice that this controller may seem a little smaller - thats because it is. Everything is closer together allowing you to be faster with button transitions and jumping from stick to thumb buttons to stick. A 360 is a little more curved and has a also has a good feel but its bigger size means it takes longer to jump around to the buttons. Ive tested the controller and everything is very tight, very nice controller. Sticks are extremely responsive, thumb buttons are all very smooth. It also comes with a 8 ft cord and the finish the controller is made of feels nicer then the 360. I did not have any issues with triggers / bumpers being clicky as other people have mentioned. As for the price, amazon was cheaper then any brick and mortar store in my city.
CONCLUSION: If you are on the fence for a new controller, i highly recommend buying this one, you will not regret your decision for the mimimal price difference AND better quality this controller has to offer. just remember if you are playing EMUs, you will have problems with any games that require trigger buttons, which is why i recommend xbox 360 controller for emus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelente calidad
