- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2025Size: 20 oz (Ounces)Verified PurchaseVery sturdy and comfortable to use. Works well, looks great, and weight is just right. My only problem is that others on the site want to keep borrowing it. I told them to go buy their own! I now own one of each size/weight class to go as a set. Good product made in the USA. Buy one and you will be satisfied (they do have different claw choices if rip claw is not to your liking, so check the seller for more options).
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2025Size: 20 oz (Ounces)Verified PurchaseGreat product and top notch quality and finish. This product embodies the idea of paying a few more bucks and getting a world class product made in the USA. One solid piece of American steel (says that on the tag). That's the five star part of this review.
The one start part of this review is that Estwing has been selling out and making many of their products in China lately. The quality difference is noticeable from 5 feet away. No thanks. I'll only buy their American products.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2025Size: 20 oz (Ounces)Verified PurchaseThis is a good hammer. Leather handle is much better than rubber which tears up your skin. It doesn't have as good of shock resistance as a hickory handle has, but this isn't of much concern with smaller nails. This is a very good finish hammer having plenty of weight for driving small nails very good control and won't tear up your skin. For heavier nails (16D+) you probably want a longer hickory handled hammer. I use a 19 ox vaughan with hatchet type handle for these jobs.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2024Size: 20 oz (Ounces)Verified PurchaseI lost my 40+ year old leather handle Estwing. I am glad Estwing still makes them. It will take some time for the leather to break in, but it will. When it does, it will fit my hands like a custom hammer. It functions, has balance and has durability to last.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2021Size: 20 oz (Ounces)Verified PurchaseNice to see quality tools made in my country. Of course, you pay for that luxury. I was worried about durability of the thin neck, but it seems extremely sturdy; I couldn't bend it for the life of me. The handle is even more beautiful in person than it is in the pictures. There is a gray coating on the underside of the claw, might just be to prevent scratches from nail heads or to give it traction.
-1 star because they put several of those cheap paper stickers on it that necessitate 15 minutes of fingernail scraping to get all the paper off, then acetone to remove the sticky residue.
Side note: The ounce rating and a safety glasses warning is printed on the side of the head, which is not shown in the pictures. It rubbed off instantly with the acetone I was already using for the sticker residue, so it's an easy fix if that bothers you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short hammer
Size: 12 oz (Ounces)Verified PurchaseIt’s a shirt hammer at 280mm or the length of an A4 page, shopping time was reasonable. I find the weight perfect for what I intend to do as a plumber - nailing down clamps and support buttons. It should fit perfect in trapdoors and confined spaces due to its shortness and yet still have the weight to drive a steel nail through floor joists. I think the weight will be perfect to prevent to much demand on my aging joints. All up for 50 au dollars I think we’ll have a long history together on finishing and plumbing work.
