The best there is, and I've tried almost everything out there. The price is steep, but you need very little for a great lather, so it lasts me at least a quarter if not two. No wonder English royalty uses this. All natural and spectacular. I own all of their products, pre, on and post. Addicted.

    I've been using this (lavender only) for several years, following the recommendation of Sharpologist. The scent is well balanced. Too much lavender can be off-putting, but this is just right. I use an older Parker badger brush and a One Blade Genesis (occasionally throw in my Feather AS-D2). I shave in the shower, lather directly on my face, and don't rinse out my brush. This helps the shaving cream last longer, but I realize it won't work for everyone. With this technique and about 5 shaves per week, the tub lasts me a full year.

    This product can make you enjoy shaving again. It is lightly scented. The cream is very thick, and a small amount in a shaving brush will create a thick lather that will lubricate and protect your face for a luxurious shave experience. I purchased this from MensGroomRoom. My initial order I received a product which something had gone amiss....the product had somehow become very thick, to the point that it was crystallized and solid. I could get it out of the jar only by sticking my fingernails into the product. I was just going to deal with it, but I had mentioned it in a comment to Amazon. Well, MensGroomRoom contacted me and offered to send a replacement product, even though I had not asked for a refund or replacement. That is very classy of this Seller...they obviously wanted me to be a happy customer, and went out of their way to contact me and make sure that I was happy. They sent a replacement product, and did not even request the other one be returned! I would definitely buy this product, from this Seller, again.

    I decided to try this a few months ago. i was put off by the price, but I went ahead and gave it a try since the brand I was using, Dreadnaught, was out of stock. I found it a little harder to lather up than the Dreadnaught, but once it did I got a silky cream that the razor just glides over. I have zero razor irritation, no cuts and I've noticed an increase in the blade life. I use this along with the Lather & Wood shaving oil. I think for me this is the right combination. I really liked my Dreadnaught, but I think this is better. Just wish it was not so expensive. That said, that based on my usage, I think I will get more than a year's use out of this jar.

    I'm really blown away by this cream. In my mission to alleviate my super sensitive neck from razor burn and discomfort, this has been my secret weapon. This is the first barbershop cream I've tried in this price range. My first step away from can cream was Duke Cannon's Superior Grade Shaving Cream which is a great cream, but as the price indicates this is in another league all together. The lavender fragrance is great, doesn't last super long so won't interfere with any cologne you may wear. Two swirls with the brush and I'm good for 3 passes, no problem. Zero nicks, cuts or bumps. You definitely get what you pay for with this one. I'd love to try Truefitt & Hill, Geo F. Trumper etc... but I don't know if I'll be able to resist just buying this again. If it ain't broke don't fix it, right?

    The Castle Forbes shave cream is very, very thick. It lathers very quickly and gives an extra smooth shave. The scent is fairly strong, but yet has a beautiful lavender aroma. Because of these positives it might have deserved 5 stars, but the one drawback is the thickness of the cream.

    When you try to lather a dab of cream, whether in a bowl, in your hand or directly on your face, it is so thick that it leaves small chunks of wasted cream stuck to everything. It is actually too thick to be a shave cream. I finally scooped and smoothed it into an unused wood shave soap bowl and now use it like a normal shave soap, swishing the wet brush around in the bowl. But be warned, due to the thick gooiness and stickiness of the cream this is a messy job, thank goodness you only need to do it once. This cream sticks to everything and is not easy to remove.

    This method works very well and the cream is so thick that it lathers the brush even quicker than soap, and the aroma is still delightful lavender. BUT this is supposed to be shave cream, not soap, and as such it should be creamier and easier to use as a cream, not so thick and firm. Suggestion to CF: make a lavender shave soap in a bowl AND a creamier shave cream. Then you will have 2 five- star products.

    The scent is natural and light. A dab will go a long way. This stuff is expensive but should last at least 6 months shaving 5 days a week. It lathers better than any soap or cream I’ve tried by far. It is firm for a cream but soft for a soap, firmer than even their lime formula. One can load the brush in the tub or rub a dab and lather on skin. Really great shave, no irritation. I will definitely buy again.

    Amazing. As an experienced wet shaver, this is by far one of the slickest, thickest, most protective shaving lather out there and that's saying a lot due to how many products I have tried. This is my favorite cream by far and highly recommend it. Previously my favorite lavender was Mike's Natural Soaps Hungarian Lavender but one whiff of this scent made me fall in love with it. This isn't a girly, floral, generic lavender you smell everywhere. This smells like if you were in a rainy forest with lots of twigs, leaves and trees and took a whiff into a plant of lavender. It's a very strong, masculine, lightly floral lavender with back hints of wilderness and earth. Highly Recommend it and worth the price.

    It comes in a nice plastic container and has a lovely subtle scent to it and lathers up in no time and yes you really do need a small amount

    It has a "protector" as well which separates the cream from the lid

    You have to unscrew the lid then lift off the "protector" in order to get to the cream - this reminds me of Trumpers tubs which have the same thing inside them

    Overall the best cream I've used/bought/lathered and I've tried Taylor of Old Bond Street, Proraso, Body Shop, Hawkins and Brimble, Harry's and my personal favourite Executive Shaving branded creams also
