After reading the reviews I opted in and purchased this mattress. From the description and other reviews I had thought that this was a a mid-firm mattress. However, after 2 months of use I noticed that the mattress sagged in the middle. I'm not a small person and at 180 lbs and 6 ft I assumed the depression was in bed frame, nope. After moving the mattress to the floor the depression was still just as visible and discernible when laying on the mattress on the floor. Flipped it over but nothing worked. As I had already missed the return date, I took my trusty fillet knife and peered in, like a magician, I had cut it in twade. Here are the measurements that I took of both the egg crate height and the total height to the tops of the egg crate. Side measurements taken 10 inches in from the edge and center measures are from center... First Picture, Side from bottom of mattress to egg crate peaks approx: 6.25 in. Second Picture, Center of mattress measuring from the bottom to the peaks approx: 5.75 in. Third pic. Center of mattress measuring only peak height of the egg crate approx: 1.75 in. Side measure of egg crate only 2.125 in. Adhering to the scientific method I made sure that the mattress was not used for one week and placed vertically on edge when measuring to nullify any anomalies caused by gravity or an uneven surface. These measurements are relatively close but if the foam has degraded that quick (3 month period) I can assure you that you will feel a drastic amount of sag in the mattress. If you have back problems I would not but this mattress. As such, I have purchased a different mattress from a local retailer and could not be happier with my choice to slice and dice this over priced piece of foam. Also, I used some of the foam to make a plush dog bed. Yes I'm out a chunk of money, but damn it fells good to be a Gangster ( addendum... Magician). Hope this is helpful. Cheers!

It's not as soft as I would prefer for my mattress, but it's not bad either. I would call it "firm" based on my preferences. I actually purchased this for my daughter's bed and she thinks it's incredibly soft and comfy & sleeps really soundly on it (mind you, she's comparing it to a crib/toddler mattress which is really firm as they are supposed to be so this one is much softer than that). It's really not bad to sit and lay on with her when I read her a story, and the sides hold up well when I sit on the edge of the bed giving night time smooches (I've read that some sides tend to collapse on these foam mattresses). It arrived in something like 3 days after I ordered it which was great and unwrapping it I didn't smell anything at all. It's not too heavy or cumbersome once unwrapped either - easily lifts to change sheets, etc. I love that it is made in the USA & after researching this type of mattress online for a few nights I decided to go with this one because of the price and also because of the fact that it is made in USA. I don't use a box spring (mattress sits right on the bed slats) and it's great for her bed. My only semi-complaint is that it seems a little short (there is a definite gap between the end of the bed and the start of her mattress), but the end of her bed is covered in stuffed animals anyway, so she would never notice this and it doesn't really bother me enough to affect the rating. All in all, a great mattress for what we're using it for (child's room).

I ordered three of these for a bunk bed with a trundle despite some posters warnings, it paid off. These mattresses were exactly the same I measured them at 7 inches each. The top part is white with the company logo in light silver the sides have a white and light silver plaid design along the sides ( they look very high end). the seams are very thick and sturdy. the mattress' themselves are very comfortable. I tested each one and I feel they are favorably comparable to my 12 inch thick 100% memory foam mattress that I sleep on (at least when it comes to comfort-ability). I consider these mattress' moderately soft, but firm enough to support an adult I bought these mostly for children but I expect adult guest to sleep on them as well. These can definitely work as a stand alone for children, however due to the height ( 7 inches) I would recommend a box spring or something for an adult. Again I laid on these myself and they are comfortable without added support I only recommend a box spring for adults to add height. I did not sink into the bed when laying on the mattress it contoured to my body nicely . My husband who is 6 feet tall and around 230 lbs tested these mattresses as well and he found them comfortable, so I do recommend these for adults as well as children.

Update, we have had these mattresses for two months now and I have noticed my daughter sleeps longer with these mattresses than she ever has with her previous mattress. She loves them and they are holding up well. Two of the mattresses are used daily. these mattresses came fast (less than a week) so that was a bonus as well.

When I moved to a new apartment, I wanted to dump my old mattress. I loved my old mattress because it was very comfortable BUT it was long overdue for a replacement. I didn't want to move the old mattress only to throw it away weeks later so I needed to find a suitable mattress, quickly. Something that would ship/deliver for free. Something cheap (moving is already expensive enough). I did a lot of research about foam mattresses and found several companies that offered affordable, thick foam mattresses. I chose this mattress because it had some great reviews and is American made. I ordered it and it arrived two days later.

Never having had a foam mattress before, I was a little weary that it would feel too "foamy". I hate that sticky feeling that most foam padding gives me. I ordered a ultra plush bamboo mattress topper (see other review) to go with my new foam mattress to give it that hotel "cloud bed" feeling.

The mattress arrived while I was at work and I asked my roommate to open it and throw it on my bedroom floor so it would be at least partially "inflated" by the time I got home. When I arrived home just 4 hours later it was completely ready for sleep. I put together my IKEA platform frame (with slats), put this ultra light foam mattress on top and covered it with my bamboo mattress topper. After adding my sheets and comforter I plopped down into the bed and felt like I was falling through a cloud into a soft, fluffy patch of grass. I now get the best sleep of my life and realize now that my old mattress wasn't nearly as supportive and comfortable as I thought it was. THIS lightweight, inexpensive foam mattress is definitely the best thing I have purchased in a long time (with the bamboo topper. I honestly don't know what the mattress would feel like by itself).

Bonus: Because it is so lightweight, putting fitted sheets on the mattress is no longer a struggle. It lifts easily and holds the fitted sheets securely.
