- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2016Wonderful book. The designs are such that they aren't entirely full of tiny little spaces to color. Many have larger areas which make it more relaxing to color. A real nice selection of pictures too for when your in different coloring moods. Great price as well! Well worth buying. No bleed over either from 1 page to another.
I love this book, the pictures are going to really be beautiful when finished. The only negative is the pictures are back to back so if you wanted to frame any, you would have to choose between sides.
Update:
Whimscial Gardens is going to be an exciting book to color. It's pages are removable for sharing with others or framing when you do one you love.
There's a picture on the inside back cover that is a guide to it's owner inside the book or use your imagination and use your own color scheme. There's all kinds of pictures to color 31 of them
and again I must sound like a broken record but make sure to have something under your picture if you don't take it out to do so you won't leave imprints on the picture under it or color markings from the one already done.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2023I have loved completing this adult coloring book! It has such beautiful detailed pictures. I have enjoyed hours and hours of relaxation and enjoyment coloring almost a page per day. I highly recommend this coloring book to anyone who likes gardens!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 25, 2017What a delightful fun coloring book! The paper was a bit thin so I wouldn't recommend coloring using markers, but for those who color with pencil crayons, it's a good fit. The pictures were cute and adorable. A couple of pictures had stroke issues (ie. some lines were thick, others thin in the same pictures making it hard to color consistently) but most of the pages were just fine. There are some pages too that have some tiny detail, so get your pencil sharpeners out to capture those with color! The pictures didn't tell a story or anything but that's okay. Just a bunch of really cute garden pictures to color.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2015Pleasantly surprised. Most Creative Haven books are repeats of patterns in what I call "wall paper" drawings, or worse..they are just reprinted drawings from the older Dover Press coloring books. This one has actual drawings like on the cover, and plenty of detail without getting crazy. It does have some of the types of prints I just mentioned, but they are few interspaced between the greenhouse type scenes. It is printed on one side of the page, and the pages are perforated so you can take one out for fear of ripping or ruining the book.
I have most (if not all) of the garden themed adult coloring books, plus about 20-30 more books ranging from the old Dover Press coloring books to the newer books being printed nowadays for adult coloring. As a comparison: Johanna Basford's books are filled with gorgeous art, but pages are porous and printed on two sides. I haven't started coloring them because of this. Then there is another garden themed book called Enchanting English Garden, where the images are not as detailed and there is tremendous white space. For the price, this book is the better buy and I doubt you will be disappointed.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2016Got my book about a week ago. I'm half loving it/ half irked with it. The pictures are adorable-- flipping thru the book I just want to maniacally attack every page with my pencils. But then I become irritated by all the heavy black ink. (Whyyyy, Alexandra Cowell?!)
Take this pic for example. There is so much of it that has been filled in with black ink. Instead of coloring pages this book looks like a publication of pen/ink drawings. I hate that.
Also the pages are a little waxy.
Pretty good price and I'm sure I'll get over the black ink. I hope.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2024Bought two. One for me and one for my adult daughter. We are both pleased with the selections on the pages that we can color. Good options without being repetitive.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2015I like this book. The drawings are one sided for the best outcome. Almost all of the pictures are nice, some are a little kooky, but Creative Haven so far, are the best quality adult coloring books I have found. I saw my first one, Fanciful Faces, at Michael's. Just for the heck of it I bought it along with a 12 box of Prismacolor Verithin Pencils. I am so pleased I made that purchase. The pencils are the best, even the Fine Arts Museum here offers them for sale. I now have a lot of pencils and some Prismacolor Premier, too. There are a lot of tiny things to color in this book. It is a good learning experience to see how to use contrasting color to make them all look good. The books are reasonably priced and worth the money. It arrived in good shape and packaged nicely. I would recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2015Okay, here's the deal: if you like coloring books with lots of tiny details that call for finely sharpened colored pencils or fine pointed colored ink pens, then this charming coloring book is for you. It seems to draw much of its inspiration from Johanna Basford's enormously popular coloring books, The Secret Garden and The Enchanted Forest. If you prefer coloring books that have larger, less-finely grained drawings, where you can color in broad strokes, then this is probably not the coloring book for you.
That said, if you understand what you're getting, you'll fine this coloring book utterly charming and cute. Very whimsical. I like it lots. But if you color with ink pens, put blotting paper under the pages you are working on so the ink doesn't bleed through.
Have fun. Relax. That's what this is all about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good buy
It is a good coloring book with this price. Pictures are clearly printed and good design with details. Paper is thin but not bad. Can’t be used for water color because the paper is thin, but for color pencils, it is easy to get the colors on the paper.

5.0 out of 5 stars una recessione tardissima
mi piace questo libro, perché non riesco trovare in negozio che si vende i libri, ho pitturato qualche pagine, è bellissima. adesso è dentro il mio cassetto, magari nel futuro quando ho tempo, ci provo finire di pitturare.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wide selection of different pictures from umbrellas to scarecrows.
Creative Haven colouring books are always exciting and I was pleased with this whimsical garden theme book. I like the range of different designs, some of the images to colour in range from a scarecrow garden, garden shed, wishing well, flowers, trees, bonsai tree, pond, wind mobiles, garden party, cottage, birds, birdhouses, leaves, butterflies and many more. The images on the pages are not framed, the pages are perforated making it easy to tear each page out neatly. The paper is roughly 80gsm and white with black printing. There are 31 images in total and each one is different.
All the printing is on the right hand side of the book and the left side is blank so there is no image on the reverse of the picture you colour in.
I think the book is very nice and there are a lot of different designs to choose from. There are quite a lot of very small sections to colour in which may not be to everyone's taste but I do think it is a great book with enough variety. At the time of buying this book I paid £3.99 which is a very reasonable price in my opinion.

4.0 out of 5 stars No está mal.
Lo compré porque me pareció un buen precio y habí leído muy buenas críticas. No está mal, una ilustraciones son más bonitas que otras... eso sí, la impresión sólo por una cara, lo que está muy bien si quieres colorear con según qué rotuladores o pinturas..
