- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2015After reading some of the other reviews, I just took a little sniff test of my roll of twine. I detect no "chemical" type of odors. It smells exactly how I would expect of a big roll of sisal twine.
This roll is perfect for doing crafts, creating a cute rustic look for decor or wrapping gifts. I actually bought mine for the latter. When I ship my crafts, I put them in a container tie this twine around them for a cute handmade look and put them in a larger box surrounded by Kraft packing paper. The entire effect is very shabby chic and goes over really well.
I've also used this twine to add to Christmas presents after wrapping them in Kraft paper. Again, it has a soft cottage feel.
The twine can be a little messy. As others have pointed out, it is frayed all along the length and as you unravel it and tie it, little shreds end up falling off. I would, therefore, not recommend this for use around food items. Instead, stick to baker's twine.
For crafting, though, this is just perfect!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2015Whether or not you like this product will depend on how you plan to use it. It was perfect for what I ordered it for.... I made a large gnome bridge and several ladders. I glued them together which worked fine, but it dd not look too realistic. Gnomes are not realistic but you want to make it look like some imaginary people made it with what they have at hand. I doubt a glue gun or gorilla glue is something some imaginary creature could run across in the forest. So I took this twine and shored them up, tying in a criss cross pattern and it both covered up the glue balls and added a very cool look. You will not be able to use this thin twine to tie down a load of trash in the back of your truck. lol, but if you want a really strong thin twine ... you will love this.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2018I finally took down my holiday tree and bundled it for transport/disposal with this sisal twine. In February, you ask? No, I wasn't wasn't waiting for the shipment -- in fact, it was delivered promptly (prime delivery). The tree I had was a Nordmann Firm, which has a very long lifespan as a cut tree. So, dying, dry tree happens in February instead of early January! I know this is coming off as a review of an evergreen tree but it is just for context to show how well the sisal twine did the job. I bought 300ft just to make sure I wouldn't run out, however 300ft ended up being more than enough! The twine is very sturdy and I only needed to use a little to bundle the branches (did not need to wrap around as many times). So, the twine was good and I now have a bunch leftover for plenty of other things! Docked one star due to how the twine was initially wrapped/packaged -- it was made to look like more feet of twine, but the center was narrow (not like the major picture). It's twine and it worked just fine.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2013I used this twine in a Florida Weave (tomato support system) I created in my garden this summer. I would like it if the twine were a bit thicker, but it was hard to find that online, and this was a good price, so I went with it instead and hoped it would work. It was very easy to cut and tie. I used it to support 9 indeterminate tomatoes and had no problems all summer until one string recently either broke or came untied--this could have been my fault, but it held up for months before otherwise and was pretty easy to fix.
The only disadvantage might be that the twine is just wrapped around itself without a spool, so as the roll of twine gets thinner, there's less there to support it, and I expect that one of these times it will become a shapeless mass of twine (hopefully not too tangled).
I still have quite a bit left over, but if I run out next summer I wouldn't hesitate to order this one again.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 17, 2013I purchased the twine to use as part of my son's "message in a bottle" Pirate Birthday invitations and ended up loving how easy it was to make knots and have it hold. I ended up purchasing a second spools of it and using it to tie the decorations the day of his birthday. It is strong and it wont snap easily, despite the fact that in certain areas the twine seems to thin out, it still hold a great deal of weight (The piñata was about 30lbs of candy and it was held together with the twine). I definitely will continue using it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2015Why am I reviewing twine on the internet? Good question, but the bigger question is why are you reading a review of twine on the internet?
I guess I'll give you something to read:
This twine is fine
Although it may fray
When you tie it to a vine
Or tie up a bouquet
Its thickness may vary
Which can get in the way
And when twine is hairy
With little bits going astray
It can look rather scary
On your liquid crystal display
But the image in the listing
Is only okay
It doesn't show the twine twisting
And it's hairy decay
Seriously though, This twine is thick in places and thin in other places, and it frays quite easily. I used it to tie up tomato plants, and I'm a little concerned about it's durability with it fraying so much.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2015I used this rope along with some clothes pins I ordered to hang up pictures at my graduation party and it worked great! It's perfect for decorating and Pinterest projects, too! It is strong, durable, easy to use, looks nice and vintage -- overall great product with many different options for using it! I definitely recommend this!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2013I purchased this twine to train Kiwi vines to run from my front garden up to my front window boxes and from there on up to my second floor window boxes. I estimated I would need about three hundred feet to create the twine lattice and I was able to quickly complete the project with twine left over!
Pros-
-Sturdy! A couple times I leaned more of my weight on the twine than I should have - it never pulled apart.
-300 foot length all accounted for!
-Easy to knot and weave.
-Thin appearance for the strength it provides (I didn't want to create too much visual disruption in front of my windows before the vine grows the entire height...)
Cons-
-tastes like chocolate to pesky goats :(

5.0 out of 5 stars Pequeño, compacto, práctico

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have in all homes
Very useful around the house a great staple to always have.
Much more environmentally friendly compared to plastic twine, and just as strong.
