Product Description

SPEARFISHING - Favored by spearos that are looking for a heavy duty shooting line (not for reels), that is super strong, cut resistant and easy to rig because of its excellent knot retention. FIRE POI, WELDING - With heat tolerance to 900 +f, this cord has many uses in high temperature applications. TACTICAL/SURVIVAL/UTILITY - This cord earns its weight as a multi-purpose tool. A coil weighing a few ounces in your pack or around the house saves the day in a 1000 different ways. QUALITY - This cord is braided from 100% Kevlar fiber made in the USA by Dupont and then is assembled and tested by a US defense contractor. Unlike some of our competitors, there is no fine print about fiber blending, braid components that are not Kevlar or generic substitution. Before using this cord please consider what tensile test strength means. Tensile testing is done on each batch of this cord by the manufacturer. Our stated 900lb nominal strength is the minimum acceptable standard. Most batches test significantly above this standard. It is important to note that testing is done with specialized machinery and can't be replicated under normal use.

So far, so good!

So far, so good!
So I purchased this product, not for a speargun, but to hopefully, and finally rectify my patio umbrella woes! This is our third season with this particular patio umbrella, and the third time the cord to open and close the umbrella has snapped! I've replaced the cord twice with comparable 500lb paracord...and the end result has been the same twice, BUSTED. I hope the answer is 900lb Kevlar speargun line. I installed this product 2 weeks ago, and it seems to be doing the job. I will report back later on in the season, in the event anyone is looking for a similar application.

This cord is perfect for 1001 different uses. Kevlar cord is unbelievably strong and durable, useful for nearly any purpose that other ropes/cords of other types can be used for.... only better. About the only reason to use something other than an appropriately sized Kevlar cord would be cost/benefit. Kevlar will almost always be better than anything else, so you just have to decide if your use is worth the premium. In my case, I am using it for high-powered rocketry. Generally, the payload and/or nosecone sections will be attached to the booster section and the parachute with Kevlar cord. Because the deployment of the parachute is done using a small black-powder charge, other cords and elastic can potentially burn through with even a single use. Within a few uses, anything other than Kevlar is generally, well, "toast"... literally. Kevlar can be used over-and-over again with almost no obvious wear. Though I use this particular cord, many rocketeers use Kevlar strap to help avoid "zippering" the rocket. If you are into this hobby, you know what I mean... but I have found that a sufficiently long cord usually avoids this problem.

Tip for use... To avoid fraying at cut ends, the cord that was shipped to me used electrical wire shrink tubing shrunk onto the ends. I had never thought of this and it is a good idea... however, I combine that with a dab of low-viscosity "superglue" the superglue will wick into the cord and hold it together. Before it dries I gingerly press the end together (avoiding sticking my fingers to it) to compress it into a neat, more-or-less round shape I can get the tubing over. Then, I use the shrink tubing over the outside. This gives me a neat, fray proof end.

    Main reasons to use:
    Low stretch
    High Strength
    Fire Resistant
    Chemical Resistant

I love this stuff. I often use this line for my rope meteor. The line is thin and strong which lets you get some pretty incredible momentum especially if you are using a mass with a goodly amount of weight. I spin with a pair of huge(tm) monkey fists (about 4") on the end and the kevlar braiding works well with fire props. I use a few quick links to separate the heads from the line. The only breaks I ever get with this line come from abrading the line ... effectively sawing it ... which can happen if you tie directly to the props or similar.

I used this to replace the worn out and damaged string on my zero gravity porch lounge chairs. It is so strong and working perfectly on my loungers. Much better alternative than to disposing of the chair since everything else was in great working order.

ordered it on 4-30 , recieved it on 5-3. Ordered this to use to hang a hammock like many others had . I found it easy to cut with a 6" boning knife. and I taped the edge to keep from fraying , I plan to put shring tube on the ends . I used it immediatly to test it . and it worked as expected , no stretch and takes a knot easy , and comes undun easy too. I only use knots to hang my hammock , no whoopie slings, Knots are a skill, best used to keep it. I use a bowline and taught hitch to hang . this cordage is light and durable. been let down with other types . Now I can't wait to hit the trail .

Bought a small amount of this to test for camping (hanging packs, hammocks etc.) Initial impression is excellent: Very light, Strong enough to do lift me (I weigh 240, I know it says 900lb but its nice to check out) and very low flex, which anyone who has ever tried to hang a pack with paracord can attest is quite important. Price is a bit high for my purpose but if you're looking for quality its there. Will update this after my next hike as well.
