My wife bought an previous one and used indoors.
When she discarded it I took it and used it to protect some seedlings outside.
An unusual use but it has worked well.
It serves as a mini green house.
I decided to purchase a second one.
This review is about that one and all I can say is it is great and built like a tank.

Love my little terrarium. Very cool looking and functional!! I have four from this company and love them all. The one sized larger then this I use to start my outdoor garden instead of one of those jiffy starters because those get so dirty and deformed. Plastic in the trash every other year. This will last a lifetime! It is not as inclosed as the version that lifts off so I do have to do a little watering. The one with the lift off top works very much like a bottle garden and I have only had to water once.
Can fit up to 6 two inch potted plants comfortably. Although I replanted my plants into square containers to fit better.
Glass and design is very classy, love the green accents! Was better then I hoped. Only worried about the little arm that holds the lid but very rarely does this need to be used.
Metal base is wonderful because it can hold some weight if you want to add decorative rocks and a fairy garden.
Packaged and shipped well wrapped and with love. Everything was perfect even though my mail man is heavy handed with deliveries!!

A terrarium appeared to be a possible answer and this one has suited it fine. However
I purchased this to house a bonsai tree. The tree was kept in a kitchen on a north-facing windowsill and was very greedy of water. Woe and betide if I did not supply it with 150ml pr day. The only way to preserve it when I was away from the house was to put it in a large plastic bag. It thrived but, of course, was barely visible!W. J. A terrarium appeared to be a possible answer and this one has suited it fine. However, prospective purchasers should be aware that it is NOT a Wardian case (though others in the range may be) as it is not sealed especially at the top ridge where the hinged panel is attached. A long gap here allows circulation of air - and may be just what my bonsai needs!
Another problem is that the metal ledges on which the 'greenhouse' sits are not wide enough. Very careful placing, one way round, is necessary or one edge of the greenhouse falls in. I am proposing to purchase two thin strips of metal to glue on and increase the width by about 2mm each.
A little niggle is that it would also be helpful to have a second little hook on the prop that is used to keep the lid open so that it is held open just a little way - but this could be arranged.
Otherwise the whole terrarium is of very high quality and well worth the price. The base box is excellently sealed with a plastic membrane and the 'greenhouse' beautifully constructed (though I am not a fan of the green glass stripe. The finials along the ridge are good quality too. It looks really good and expensive!
It came beautifully packed, tissue paper wrapped, in a really substantial cardboard box.
