I was a little concerned after seeing the reviews about the unit breaking or not working with cane sugar, but decided the price was right even if it doesn't work perfectly. I can say as long as you leave a little space at the top to shake up Turbinado cane sugar (I used the classic Sugar in the Raw brand), this really works great! There are some brands that get really stuck together, so watch out for that... Overall, great design and I'll look out for other products by this company...
