This coloring book is a winner! I like vibrant colors so I prefer to use markers and, even though the pages are double-sided, the paper is thick enough that the markers barely bled through (and only did so when I layered darker colors). The book itself was shiny and pristine upon arrival. I love the explanations of the flowers and how it offers guidance as far as colors. Coloring these pages is super relaxing, you don’t have to think too much and the sizing of the images is perfect so it’s easy to stay inside the lines. I’m very very pleased with this purchase. A++

I used to buy Dover coloring books as a teenager and came across them again when searching for a botanically correct flower coloring book. The illustrations are nice, with the meaning of each flower below, but I would really like for Dover to use better quality paper and make the pages single sided. Using colored pencils I don’t need to worry about bleed-through, but with markers I think it would be a problem.

Wonderful book. The designs are such that they aren't entirely full of tiny little spaces to color. Many have larger areas which make it more relaxing to color. A real nice selection of pictures too. Great price as well! Well worth buying. No bleed over either from 1 page to another.

I love this book, the pictures are going to really be beautiful when finished. The only negative on the Dover books is the pictures are back to back so if you wanted to frame any, you would have to choose between sides.

An awesome bonus is on the inside covers there are 9 colored versions of flowers pictured to give you an idea of the colors to use or what they look like in real life.

    Update with picture

The Language of Flowers would be good for a budding Botanist. There are 30 pictures to color with the common and scientific names under them and what each one symbolizes. There are 10 color pictures to use as guides counting the front cover. A wonderful learning and enjoying book.

Once again make sure to have something under your picture if it isn't removable so you won't leave imprints on the picture under it or color markings from the one already done.

The Language of Flowers Coloring Book from Dover Coloring Books is lovely...

    - Pictures are back to back, leaving the colorist choosing between pictures.

    - Markers are definitely going to bleed through the page. Should be colored with a thicker sheet between the pictures. I use file folders, they work great in coloring books with lower quality paper.

    - Pages are not perforated, so regardless of which page you wish to color & display, you will need to cut the page out of the book.

+ The "plates" depicting finished works are beautiful. These can guide the colorist, should they wish.

+ Could be a great starter book for someone who is advancing in shading, etc..

I got many of these books in different themes and love coloring them. You can get really creative. I don't have an artist's talent, so I enjoy creating my own color combinations, although there are colored pictures of all of them on the covers so you can follow those or come up with your own. These aren't not kids coloring books! They are more detailed, and I use colored pencils on some, fine point gel pens on others and a wide range of felt tip colors on most. I usually do these in the evening when I need to wind down and they work wonders for me. Even without artistic talent, I love my renderings and plan on keeping the completed books to look at a few years from now or give some of them to an elderly friend who loves them when I finish coloring them. Great idea for adults or kids who have advanced coloring skills.

A nice calming colouring book and a nice change of pace. Each of the flowers is described as well as a coloured example given on the inside covers. I can add my own shadings or add backgrounds should I want to. Printed on good paper but not for watercolours. A nice book to have.

Consegna celere e precisa.
