Yes, this one does. The &quot;New&quot; release (2015) version of the 3ds xl does NOT have the ac adapter, but this older version (2012?) does.

This particular model does not. There are some bundle options available from time to time that feature pre-loaded games. You can, however, download games that you choose to buy from the e-shop that will be on the system afterwards.

It does not come with any games, beyond a couple of goofy camera games built into the OS.

The system itself comes with two games that utilizes the systems 3d features and cameras. Face Raiders is a fun shooting game where you take a picture of yourself, or friends, and the images become the target that you try to hit with a ball. It also comes with AR (Augmented Reality)games and uses cards (which come with the system) and has mini-games on it such as fishing and archery which are pretty fun too. You can also buy bundles with games preloaded such as the legend of Zelda bundle and the Mario dream team bundle and these come with that particular game already installed. If you search enough you can sometimes find that these bundles are the same price as just the system itself which is a great deal.

My daughter's did not come with Mario Kart pre-loaded, but there were some smaller basic games that come with every system that were on it.

No - but you can sometimes get free games from Nintendo's eShop after you register -- or buy it bundled with a game (you have to watch for specials).

No real games on it or very useful apps.
However on the Nintendo eShop you can find a few Free game demos and apps, including YouTube, Netflix and others. Not the fastest in loading compared to an iPhone 4 and of course not even high quality screens, but they could be helpful if you are on the run and have wifi access.
You can buy games off the eShop and download full releases like Pokemon X and Y, or you can go to the store and get a copy for pretty much the same price. I rather have the hard copy with box and all. Hope it helps

Son has been begging me for a 3ds for over a year. The bugging became worse when pokemon x and y came out. I took my time and decided on the 3ds xl although he only wanted a regular sized 3ds. I used walmarts holiday layaway to purchase this which allowed a cash strapped person buy an excellent xmas present. The 3ds xl has passed with flying colors. Son has decided the xl is bigger and better then the regular 3ds easier to see and hold onto. And the black color ensures that when he's finished with it the system will be able to be passed down to girl cousins with no hassle over color. Only complaint is that regardless of place of purchase the price is basically the same everywhere.

waited a year

Purchased it for my 10 year old at walmart.com. He has a Nintendo DS since 2009 but wanted to upgrade to 3 DS XL - has a larger screen, a camera and additional features. I reserached the price on amazon, gamaestop, and bestbuy. Bestbuy and gamestop offer a trade-in towards a new console purchase. None of the options beat walmart.com price. It came as a bundle, so we got a starter game to go with it. Very pleased with the product. No hassle purchase and shipping.

Pretty blown away with my first few games, i got this with a bundle from walmart with a case, stylus, and a game, though none of that was the deciding factor. The 3ds is awesome graphically and I continue to use it nearly every day. I cant wait for some of the newer games. Would highly recommend this to RPG fans or anime rpg fans or fans of mario, or nintendo franchise games. Need to get a circle pad pro for this bad boy to make it complete though. Its visually amazing, way above expectations. I only have one complaint and i guess its the only complaint is the screen 'breaks' its picture if you angle it which can be annoying. However, once you figure that out and how to hold it, it doesn't really matter.

Neat!

My daughter loves it. So I love it. She is thrilled about this DS- she's never had one before and im glad we awaited for her 8th birthday so she appreciates it and takes care of it. Her favorite game is Animal Crossing New Leaf and it's hilarious. Really fun game. I had a university student tell me he loves that game so really is a game that will grow with her...

3DS XL

The 3ds exceeted my expectations. the menu system, camera quality, everything. my only complaint is that the volume control is in a terrible place. it just so happens to sit where i hold the console. this causes the volume to go up periodically while im playing. also, its a bit uncomfortable. I'm constantly switching my left hand around because the switch makes an imprint on my hand. i loved how the regular ds' volume switch was on the bottom. tottally and completely out of the way. this is my only complaint with the 3ds console. other than that, great job nintendo! you have outdone yourselves.

Great But Only One Complaint

I have been a gamer as far as I can remember. NES, SNES, Sega, 3DO (Yes, 3DO), N64, DreamCast... on and on and on.

I most recently purchased a PS4 and got a Vita with it. The Vita went unused most of the time so I thought I'd switch to Nintendo for my handheld gaming.

Best decision I've made in recent memory!

The XL screen is a welcome bump in size. The 3D effect works great; I was really surprised. Battery life is really great as well. Most games are $30-$40, which isn't bad. But there's a huge back-log of 3DS and DS games that can be purchased for pennies on the dollar.

Great system and would recommend for anyone between the ages of 5 and 55!
