Product Description
A 12-amp, high-torque motor helps this electric landscape edger power through tough overgrowth and dig clean-looking trenches. Easily converts from edger to landscape trencher.
Amazon.com
Offering 150 in./lbs. of torque and 4,700 RPM of power, this 2-1/4 HP landscape edger from BLACK+DECKER can help transform your yard and add real curb appeal to your home's exterior. Lightweight yet extremely efficient, the LE750 performs multiple tasks, including edging along hard surfaces like driveways and sidewalks; trenching around garden beds, trees, and borders; and helping to install both outdoor lighting and invisible dog fences. Its 12-Amp motor can handle even stubborn overgrown areas, and three-position blade depth adjustment ensures optimum control as you work. To guard against unintended unplugging while you're working, there's a built-in cord retention system. The LE750 conveniently starts with a simple pull of the trigger and for added peace of mind, it also instantly stops when that same trigger is released.
From the Manufacturer
Is there a Hog in your yard? Well there oughta be! The Edge Hog 2-in-1 Landscape Edger (LE750) offers versatility and increased power to create perfectly manicured lawns around sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and patios. The edger feature has the ability to tackle tough overgrowth along hard surfaces creating a defined trench between the grass and the surface. The exclusive Pull-Up Edge Guide converts the edger into a landscape trencher. The landscape trencher is powered by a 2-1/4 hp* high torque motor to shape gardens, shape tree borders, install outdoor lighting or install underground invisible dog fencing. The 3-position blade depth adjustment provides depth of cut at 1, 1-1/4, and 1-1/2 inches to maximize the control of the trench depth. Weighing in at 12.4 pounds, and possessing a three-wheel design provides lightweight comfort and balance while edging. The 7-1/2-inch hardened steel blade's counter clockwise rotation throws dirt and debris away from the operator leaving a crisp edge on the trench. A built-in cord retention secures the extension cord for increased safety and continuous edging with no interruptions. The assistance handle can be attached on the right or left side allowing for variations in user preferences. Tool-free assembly. 30 day no-risk satisfaction guarantee and full two-year warranty. *hp ratings equivalent to gas engine at peak torque.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2004Style: EdgerVerified PurchaseI started to care for my lawn again after a hiatus of many years. Bought a new electric mower from Sears (made for them by B&D) and a manual edger similar to a Sears item I bought many years ago.
My overgrowth at the edges was substantial so I really had to labor with the manual edger. Lots of elbow grease but I managed to dig a decent "trench" at the paving. For the future, however, I definitely wanted something automatic.
I found the B&D Edge Hog here on Amazon and like with many products here I immediately jumped into the Customer Reviews. The 4+ star rating is exceptional for any product and after reading some glowing reports I took a chance on one.
In my first outing, I will admit to causing quite a few sparks against the concrete as I adjusted to using and aligning the tool. After my second outing, having the advantage of some experience and a nice "trench" already in place, plus the value of the edge guard, there was little sparking and the task was amazingly quick and easy. The resulting look equaled what I was receiving from a more professional (and expensive) landscaper who used a huge gas model.
My only problem is that I was unable to see the guide wheel from my vantage point in the rear of the edger. I compensated by using the guide imprinted on the front housing, above the hidden wheel. That was very adequate and the sparks rarely flew. My reserve blade will likely not be needed until deep into next year's cutting season, if then. It's a substantial blade, and in my view well worth the $7 cost.
I have neighbors with 2 in 1 trimmers (the kind with nylon rope) that can be oriented 90 degrees to act like an edger. I can't imagine preferring that over the Edge Hog's solid cutting blade.
Two year warrantees are not easy to come by these days and I was impressed by B&D's willingness to stand behind it that long, especially having just bought a SONY 27" WEGA TV for $450 and its 90 day labor "warranty".
To anyone on the fence about this product, I would add to what the others have said and say "Go for it!"

- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2025Style: EdgerVerified PurchaseI grew up in the 1970's and my father always had an electric edger which gave our driveway and sidewalk a good clean look. Most people today just use a string trimmer, but an edger just gives a very clean uniform look. I have not used one of these for years, but my driveway was just calling out for one of these and I am very glad I purchased this item. It works very well and hopefully will last for a good long time.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2020Style: EdgerVerified PurchaseI had been using my string edger, (B&D 20V battery) but when I was hurt in a fall, my edging didn't get done for over 5 months! So over-grown in my driveway, walkway, and curb the string edger just could not cut the thick runners of grass. Well, I ordered this one (I REALLY wish they would make a battery-operated one) and it still took a bit of time, it did get the job done.d But does a decent job, sometimes I have to run it twice over the thicker spots. I know that once done and kept up weekly, it will become easier. I'm keeping it and will continue to use it. The downside is carrying and 100' electric cord over my shoulder! I don't like that, it tends to cause me to lose my balance at times. Overall, I love my B&D tools. The next venture with B&D will be kitchen appliances!
Just a note on B&D - - - ALL my tools are 20v B&D tools - I still use the stringer for trimming around trees, home, garden, and hard sport to mow. I have the 20v power drill with a whole lot of tools for doing all sorts of things, I have a 20v blower that is wonderful for sweeping the front porch, blowing refuse off the curb and driveway that is powerful. (It even works for drying the dogs! LOL* Lastly, I have the 20v hedge trimmer. It works great for overgrown vines and hedges. I have a huge Confederate Jasmine the during, my lapse has invaded my neighbors' fence, another's garage, and growing forward to invade my back yard and potted plants. This tool is a honey! Easy quick and far enough in front of me that the vines can just fall and I go.
Tips: If you go with B&D 20v battery tools it is important to clean them and give them a light spray of WD40 when putting them up. Also, these tools all come with a 20v battery and charger, some have 2 batteries included, but I have 8 batteries so I always have one 'ready to go". All of these are very easy to use, light enough for carrying (I'm 73 y/o). I wish they offered a battery-operated saw for small projects like bookshelves, border fencing, making pallet tables, and other small projects I would like to make for my back yard. One other thing is that all the battery chargers and batteries are interchangeable to each other, but do not buy the battery with the "black" back (others are cream or grey) because I have never gotten it to take a charge, the charger gets hot, and I've tried with all 4 of my chargers and the problem is in the battery! I never sent it back for replacement so I keep in a small box and dead batteries go there for charging but the box keeps my "needs charging batteries separate from the box with "charged and ready".
- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2024Style: EdgerVerified PurchaseFirst the edger works as advertised. I had a battery operated one before and took it back after the first used. Underpowered and light weight. This unfortunately has a cord but works like my old gas engine model. Heavy enough to hold in the path along the driveway sidewalk and street. I have to work on my curves but my straight runs look professional.
Now the bad part Assembly. The cord did not and would not push into the handle tube as described in the directions. I had to disassemble the handle and cut close to 10” of excess wire. The wire ends had ferrules to tighten properly into the switch. I did not have ferrules so I had to solder the bare ends to build them up to get a good tight connection in the switch.
If the amount of excess wire is typical I would not recommend someone without electrical experience doing this. Return it. I was anxious to use it.
Again works very well for intended ourpos once you can get it together 🤔🤗
- Reviewed in the United States on September 24, 2024Style: EdgerVerified PurchaseThis is my second Edge Hog. First one lasted five years with regular use. Amazingly powerful electric motor makes edging relatively simple. A good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful corded edger
Style: EdgerVerified PurchaseWorks great. I have a dewalt brushless dewalt trimmer I was edging with snd the power just isn't there. Aparently their battery opperated edger is the same. This B+D Edger is fantastic. Consistent power and good design. Take a bit of practice to get good at using it but you can't beat it. The price is 1/3rd of a battery opperated one with at least 2x the power. Well worth the money.
I'm using this for my business so we'll see how it holds up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Little powerhouse
Style: EdgerVerified PurchaseI am happy with the quality of the edger. It was easy to assemble but I would like a better handle when using as I had to have one hand on the pole to steady it while I did my edging. It cut a nice line for the lawn edging but it is a little difficult to maneuver for the curves in my edging on my lawn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked perfectly
Style: EdgerVerified PurchaseI hadn't edged my driveway for years, it was so bad it was difficult to find the edges. The edge of the asphalt is angled so I had to set the depth of the edger to trench (deep) and go by feel when the cutter touched the angled asphalt. Once the sod was cut I shovelled along the edge and put the trimmed pieces in a wheelbarrow. I had a total of about 1,500' or more of edging to do. It was still hard work but the machine did a great job of cutting the sod rather than cutting with a spade. I got the majority of it done in two days and have about another 100' to go part of which will require cutting the asphalt in a straight line, hopefully the machine will be up to it otherwise I'll have to rent a machine built for cutting.
