Review: Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal

Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal, £3.99 – Boots (HERE) || Feelunique (HERE) || Superdrug (HERE)

I’m no stranger to the Rimmel ScandalEyes collection; having openly professed my love for the ScandalEyes Show Off Mascara here on the blog, I was more than keen to try the eyeliners of the same range. I know that a normal person would go and buy one, maybe two of them… but I just had to get four – one for everyday, one for evening, one outrageous and one for curiosity. Oh dear!

These are the Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajals; they are super soft and pigmented pencil eyeliners, and as the name suggests, they are waterproof. They are safe for sensitive eyes and are available in a range of 7 colours (black, taupe, nude, silver, bronze, purple and blue).

The first thing I noticed when I swatched these eyeliners was the lovely buttery soft consistency; they are a dream to apply, there’s no need to constantly go back and forth with the eyeliner to get the colour payoff. After it’s applied, within a few seconds they set and don’t smudge throughout the day. The only downside is that it’s ridiculously hard to remove! I used my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser to remove it, and the next morning I still had traces of it on my waterline. For that reason I only save it for special occasions when I really need something that long-lasting.

I have the nude, black, silver and purple ones, but the two stand out shades are the black and the nude ones. The black eyeliner is obviously the one that I use the most, and it’s really black and creamy. The nude one, is a great colour to cancel out any redness on the waterline, which can make your eyes look tired and dull. It really brightens up the face, opens up the eyes, and it’s not too pink, too yellow or too white. On the photos I’m wearing the black eyeliner on my top lash line and the nude one on my bottom waterline.

The ScandalEyes eyeliners are a great value for money. They cost under £4 and I think they are nearly as good as the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners, for a fraction of the price. Total B-A-R-G-A-I-N!
