This is another excellent app from Real Bodywork ! I like everything about it, from the well done drawings to the voice of the dude who does an excellent job of pronouncing the Latin names of each muscle. You won't get bogged down by a lot of clutter or over-information. This makes it easy to focus on the necessary, move smoothly along to the next image, and retain more of the information you need. This is also a great partner to the Muscle Pressure Points app Amazon offered as the FAOTD a while back (from the same folks). Everything worked without a hiccup on my Kindle Fire HDX.

I have no problem recommending this to anyone. In fact, I encourage you to get it and indulge your curiosity! (REAL information will always render one less vulnerable to old wives tales, quack remedies, conspiracy theories. . . . . . . . .) THANK YOU REAL BODYWORK ! I hope to see more--as in all --of your splendid applications in this spot soon (FAOTD).

My family loves this app, for one the app is so easy to navigate and find the muscles you are looking for or to just browse. But since my wife is in the healthcare field and I don't know muscles as well as she does then she can just tell me the name of a muscle and through the app I can visually see where the muscle is which is a great help when she explains things to me. Because in business I didn't study muscles and things, and if you are wondering she is smarter than me. :)

The information is accurate, if not terribly comprehensive, but the navigation is awful: it's a series of static 3D-model images accompanied by a bit of text and navigated in alphabetical order by menu per arbitrary muscle groups. Of no use to anyone seriously studying anatomy/physiognomy; of little use to laymen compared to extant free online tools.

I got this app on my Kindle for a Human Anatomy class where I actually worked on cadavers as well. I love the option to quiz yourself on the muscles and the options and categories in which you have to choose from are incredibly helpful. And the fact that it pronounces names aloud, has the origin and insertion of each muscle, as well as the innervation makes this app priceless.

Learn Muscles: Anatomy is an app that the developers are improving over time. Each release has added more functionality. That being said, it's not a complete muscle anatomy reference, but still has its strengths.

Information about insertions and actions are really good, but it doesn't really cater to a complete anatomy novice. There are some references to things (like the trigeminal nerve) that aren't explained. If there's a way to study a specific muscle group, I haven't found it. And the quizzes are only okay. It seems like better questions could be asked.

However, at under $3 compared to $40+ for an anatomy book, it's a nice, on-the-go app good for learning about muscles.

Just finished my first year and really needed to brush up on my muscles. During my Anatomy course, I had just pretty much ignored all insertions and origins since they were not high yield on exams. However, since I am actually going to be a doctor… i would very much like to be a good one who knows all kinds of extraneous facts about the body. That said, I had been going over Netter and BRS Anatomy, but I really wanted something where I could just learn the nitty gritty Functions, Nerves, Insertions, and Origins in a day and then build off that in the next week or so with other sources. When I saw this as a FAOTD, I was very skeptical. Most medical texts/apps/ or w/e cost $30+++. For 2.99 how good could it be? It's worth it! It doesn't have everything… but for those who want to gain a quick overview of many muscles and have it in easy to read language that is straight to the point… this is a great tool.

For the person who knows nothing about the body, it may be a little overwhelming b/c the creators don't explain what the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve is (and other things like that). But for someone with medical experience, this should be old hat. A medical student shouldn't need more than a couple hours to learn all of this apps materials, but if I had purchased this before starting anatomy and then used it at each step in my journey, I could have saved hours or time sorting through slides and books and probably have done better overall. Great place to start, and then build off of later! (One suggestion. Make a version w/ blood supply too)

As a professional massage therapist who does home visits, I sometimes write up my notes on the fly when I don't have access to my reference books. I know my muscles well, but I'm no savant. This app has all the big muscles, which are no problem for me. It's the little muscles which sometimes confuse me. E.g., Obliiquus capitus superior & inferior I sometimes confuse with major & minor and rectus capitus major & minor confused for superior & inferior. It might work well enough for someone who is taking a general anatomy course, but when it comes to the nitty gritty, it falls far short of the mark.

    Pro:

Had great information on action, insertion and origin and pronunciation.
Lots of detail information about muscles to help remember them
    Pictures were excellent

    Con:

Can't choose which muscles to study
Quiz needed to be better designed. I did not like the breakdown of topics.

I am a massage therapy student and Real Bodywork does a lot of the videos that we watch in class. I was hoping for a more comprehensive app that would have all the skeletal muscles and be able to choose which ones to pick to study
