The decadent-tasting "good" fat in salmon complements the sweet-spicy Buffalo glaze. The skin gets caramelized and crisp on the grill as the sauce drips onto it. It's delicious, but can be discarded to save fat and calories. (The numbers below include the skin.) A crisp and refreshing celery slaw is dressed with the same sauce, made creamy with light mayo, and brightened with onions and chives.
Preheat an outdoor grill or grill pan on medium high.
Mix together the hot sauce, brown sugar, paprika and cayenne in a small bowl. Transfer 1 tablespoon of the mixture to a large bowl and whisk in the mayonnaise; set aside the rest of the sauce. Add the chives, celery and onions to the bowl with the mayonnaise and toss well.
Sprinkle the salmon with salt and pepper. Brush the grill grate lightly with oil. Lay the salmon on the grill, skin-side up, and cook until distinct grill marks appear and the salmon releases easily from the grate, 2 to 3 minutes. Turn and brush the fish with some of the reserved sauce. Continue to cook the fish, brushing the pieces periodically with the sauce, until the salmon fillets are glazed and just cooked through, 13 to 15 minutes more.
Transfer the fillets to individual plates and serve with the celery slaw.

Fantastic flavour. I’ll admit, I didn’t make the slaw.

Awesome! The salmon was so juicy. The only thing I did different was used light brown sugar as that’s all I had and used 1/8 tsp red pepper as my husband is sensitive to “heat”. I used an indoor grill pan, cooked 3 minutes on first side and then 11 minutes ( 2 minutes longer for my husband’s) on the second side- of course it depends on how thick the salmon is. I almost didn’t make the celery salad as my husband said it sounded terrible but I had the ingredients so why not-? It was very good- even my husband like it!-I used 5 large celery stalks instead of 8 and that was plenty for the amount of dressing

This was excellent!! We couldn’t get over how good it was. I made steamed brown rice and grilled zucchini to accompany the salmon rather than the slaw. I thinned the Mayo mixture with lemon juice and drizzled it all over everything as a sauce. Fantastic!!!

Thanks for the tip

Husband liked this, I thought kind of spicy my son the fish but not the celery "salsa". Took others suggestions and tripled the sauce but thought it was too soupy, next time will try only doubling the sauce.

I thought it was a great recipe. We loved it. By mistake I mixed everything together including the mayo. I put the salmon in 1/2 the sauce and made the slaw with the rest of the mixture. It worked hreat as the mayo kept the fish from sticking to the grill!

Very simple recipe but soo good! I used sriracha sauce for the hot sauce so didn't use cayenne but used the paprika and sugar...the salmon came out really perfect with it. Next time I'll try the slaw, didn't have the ingredients for it this time as this was a last minute meal prep idea.

Just made this today for dinner because the local grocer had salmon on sale and I needed something to do with it. This recipe was the easiest thing I've ever done for a family dinner - and it was amazingly good. I did double all of the seasoning and liquid ingredients, plus added a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a couple of tablespoons of soy sauce to the marinade. For the slaw dressing, I used sour cream instead of mayonnaise because my son is allergic to eggs. This recipe just became a KEEPER in our house.

Fabulous flavor combination, and definitely packs a spicy punch. I live in the PNW where salmon is abundant, and this is definitely the best salmon recipe I’ve made.
