Superb for a smooth, natural application of make up (although I use the brushes slightly differently than their intended use)

Superb for a smooth, natural application of make up (although I use the brushes slightly differently than their intended use)
Bought for £8.00 during Black Friday Deals this year. They're the genuine product that you can get (at a much higher price, may I add) at several shops on the high street. I am happy with the brushes. I've been using this kit every day since I got it and have found a regular job for each brush. On all three brushes the bristles are soft and leave no marks when I use them. The bristles bend easily, but they also get back to their original shape easily. I really like how it says the name of the brush on the handle - that makes it easy for me to know what each brush is meant to be used for, especially considering how many different brushes I have in my make-up drawer. Admit it, we've all been there - looking at a brush and thinking: what was it's exact application...?! Well this name on handle thing takes that confusion away, so two thumbs up for that :) Also, each brush has a flat back, so you can prop it up and it'll stay standing (if you've got the space/time/willingness to balance it after every use). I personally don't use this feature of any of the brushes, I just chuck them in the drawer for next time, but thought I might mention it. As you'd expect the main handle colours are a nice shimmery shade and the black is super easy to grip, so design wise Real Techniques has done very well.In terms of the black case that comes with the brushes - I'm not so impressed. It gets dirty very quickly and it's near impossible to clean it completely (you cannot put it in the wash). Also the brushes are held in place by a little black elastic: this has already gotten so stretched out of place that it no longer holds the brushes within the case. The only positive that I can think of, in terms of the case, is that it folds in half and there is a toggle that you can use to decide just how open (and hence propped up) you'd like it to be. So, in a way, the case converts into a stand, which is quite unique and original thing with packaging that I've not come across before. There was also a plastic piece that held the brushes in place, but that was thrown in the bin within two days of starting to use the brushes (as it really was a useless piece of plastic there to just make the brushes seem pretty when inside the plastic packaging in the shop). Now, in terms of each individual brush - the purple is a great blending brush for your eye-shadow. However, its too big to be a precision brush and I'd recommend you only use it on your crease (and not eyelid) otherwise you loose a lot of product (which can be costly if you're either after a precise look or use quite expensive eye-shadow). So I use this brush as it's intended to be.The second brush - the pink multi tasker - I use as an exclusively face make up blending brush. Here is how it works: once I've applied all my make up, I like to blend-blend-blend to ensure there are no visible divisions between my bronzer/blusher/highlighter/etc. I tried doing this with one of the brushes for one of these three products, but that did not work as it simply made this product the predominant one on my face. So I decided to use a brush just for blending my face make up and that has done wonders for helping me achieve a flawless complexion. So that is the task I've given this multi task brush (semi-using it as its intended).Lastly, the third brush - the golden pointed foundation brush - I don't use as it's intended at all! It's meant to be for the application of liquid foundation - I use it for the blending in of my stick concealer. However, I find that it works greatly for that task - never leaves any marks or streaks or anything like that, which can be particularly a problem around your eyes' area. So I will continue to use this brush in such an "odd" way, because, quite frankly, I don't think it matters so much what it's meant to be used for as much as what it really works for on your face.No bristles have fallen off (touch wood) on any of the brushes. The brushes are light to hold, easy to work with/manoeuvre and fairly precise with product application. All three qualities I look for in a great make up brush.I recommend this kit to others, even at full price, its definitely worth the buy.P.S. I've included several pictures for you to see how the brushes came (this kit would make a lovely present) and what it looks like when open (including a close up of the name and head shape of each brush). Enjoy XD

I had been wanting to purchase real technique brushes for a while as I heard rave reviews about them. At first I looked on the lookfantastic website as I know they were reliable and safe to buy from but the brushes were £20.99 so when I saw them on amazon for just £15 I was a little but suspicious because this seemed a lot cheaper than anywhere elts, so I bought them on a whim being sceptical as to whether they were the real thing and they were! I opted for free working day delivery and they arrived 2 days after I ordered them which was great and quality of these brushes are amazing combined with the price is incredible! They are my go to brushes, using the eye brush for concealer, the multitasking brush for powder and foundation brush for foundation. I was so impressed, I have also ordered the core collection set and will be purchasing other brushes to add to my collection at these fantastic prices!

    What an amazing product!

I got this mainly because it came with the travel bag/ brush holder and I couldn't find any brush bags which would fit my other Real Techniques brushes in.
The brushes that come in the pack are brilliant essentials, particularly for beginners.
The foundation brush is a great size and spreads your foundation flawlessly.
The eyeshadow brush is great for the base shades of your eyeshadow and blending in.
The multitask brush can be used for blusher, bronzer, blending, powder and even light contouring!

All for an amazing price - one of these brushes sells for a minimum of about £12 in Boots! I also got mine on Amazon Prime so it came the day after I ordered it and I didn't have to wait for weeks! Could not recommend this product enough, Very pleased with everything about it.

I don't wear a lot of makeup and am a little bit clueless but this set has been ideal for me to help me get started as it gives me a chance to try out one of each of the brushes. I am most pleased with the foundation brush as this has allowed me, even as a novice, to apply an even application of foundation to my skin which I have been really pleased with. I can't fault the other two brushes either, I am really pleased with them all. I read the reviews concerned with the risk of fakes and so I made sure to buy my brushes direct from Amazon themselves rather than via a 3rd party. I have marked it down one star just because the case, although handy just folds over and so there is a risk that your brushes may slip out or just enough so that they get misshapen or get other items in your bag dirty.

I real like this I already have all the other brushes but I wanted something that I could take with me everywhere without having to take my massive box! The case is nice it came within 1-2 weeks of ordering. They are soft and great however I proffer my gold powder technique brush as the one in this set is a bit small but I still love it and I'm just a fan of massive powder brushes, I would recommend this to anybody the moneys well worth it you have to buy!!

Love Real Techniques brushes as a whole and this set is amazing like the rest. My favourite is the Multi-task Brush as I really find it blends in foundation beautifully and I use it for so many things (powder, contour, blush, foundation) so it really is a great multi-task brush. The eye-shadow brush that it includes is also great and I use it all the time! The foundation brush I have never used because I don't like applying foundation with those types of brushes because it usually leaves my make-up looking streaky. I have also not yet experienced any shredding from the brushes and I have had them for a good 2 months and washed them several times now! Overall great set of brushes.

Mon premier kit Real Techniques.

Over the past few months, I have discovered the benefits of investing in quality makeup brushes. I have been gradually adding to my collection and have found Real Techniques brushes to be very good and reasonably priced. I started with the Starter Set, followed by the Angled Foundation Brush, the Blush Brush, and now the Travel Essentials Set.

This set would actually make the perfect starter set for somone new to makeup and/or brushes. The foundation brush works great. It really blends well and I feel like it actually works faster than my Shany foundation brush of the same style (I use L'Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation). The Multitask Brush can be used to apply blush, powder, etc. For me, I find it better suited as a blush brush but it really can be used for anything. I don't usually wear mineral powder foundation but I had some laying around (L'Oreal) and I tried applying it with the Multitask Brush and it looks great. This is the best I've been able to get it to look, so I may use it more in the future. The Domed Shadow Brush is sized between the Base Shadow Brush and the Deluxe Crease Brush from the Starter Set. It works well for applying shadow all over the lid, in the crease, and blending, which allows you to create a complete look with only one brush. I also use it to apply concealer.

The brushes are well made. They all have a nice weight and feel good in my hands. The hairs are soft and easy to clean. I washed them immediately and a few times since with Johnson's Baby Shampoo (the Calming Lavender is amazing!) and they held up with no shedding. I also use brush cleaner after every use.

Overall, I can't find fault with this set. Its versatilitly really does make this a perfect starter set. I feel like this should be renamed to the "Starter Set" or just the "Essential Set" because this set really does contain the essentials for every day use, not just for traveling. I definitely recommend this set for anyone new to makeup, anyone on a budget, or anyone who just wants to keep things simple. You can achieve a complete look (foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, blush, and powder) with just these threee brushes. I look forward to trying my next Real Techniques brush, the Expert Face Brush.

I'd also like to point out that that Real Techniques has a YouTube channel where they post tutorials for all of their brushes plus lots of extra content. They're informative and fun to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great Real Techniques kit!

I own a lot of Real Techniques brushes, and these are just like the others. They're versatile, soft, don't shed, and at a great price. I use the biggest brush for setting or pressed powder, and powder blush for a nice subtle flush. The eye brush I don't really use much, but it's great for packing on shadow all over the lid. I don't use the flat foundation brush for foundation (just because I find flat foundation brushes, in general, prone to the dreaded Cake Face) but I use it for concealing my under eye area instead, and it's perfect.
