This is a toy and a cheap one at that. Try the 1st Act beginner guitar

Don't do it. Go to a local guitar shop. You might spend more but it will be worth it. I just bought some of these things and I'm returning them. They break easy.

It's both.... either a toy or a guitar for a child to actually learn to play on.

Actual Guitar, and sound quality as good as any $200-$300 branded guitar.

I would like to buy this for a kid to take it to guitar class from a tutor. Is this actual guitar or is it toy?

The First Act 30" Acoustic Guitar uses .012 - .053 light gauge strings.

Light gauge works well with this small student guitar.

For Beginners

Purchased to teach my grandson how to play. It sound quality is high end. Great value for the price. I think I like it more than my grandson. I recommend it for small hands to learn guitar. He has picked up quickly since he has his own guitar. Great buy I have to say to anyone who is thinking about purchasing this item. Plus the Planes background gets everyone attention about how cute it is too.

Great guitar for a beginner

My items were great, the only problem I had was with the delivery driver, he was rude and left my packages next door at my neighbors and told me that is where they were and I could go get them. I will never order online from walmart again if this is how they treat customers

Very Rude delivery driver

I got this for my 3 year old son who loves it. It is made of plastic, so it is lightweight. However, for a beginner, it doesn't make it easy for a child to figure out which way to turn the tuners. I would recommend it, whether you just get it as a toy (like I did for my son) or for a child wanting to actually learn to play.

Good beginner's guitar

Love the colors. My 6 yr son loves it. But the string broke on the second day.

Good for beginners

Good product for the money. I bought it for an 8 and 9 year old who are "starting a band"! A string did break. I am not sure if they were too rough or if it was poor construction. Otherwise, it came in just as expected. Would recommend.

Good guitar for the Price

Other than the fact that the strings were falling off, and I needed to figure out how to string it, the guitar is okay. Once we got it fixed, my son loves the guitar.

Good for a beginner if stringed properly

Ordered two of the same guitars with different designs for my girls. They want to play cause their dad plays. First off, I ordered one design for one girl and one for the other. I got two of the same guitar designs. I could live with that. My husband went to tune the strings and got down to the third or fourth string....it didn't break, the end of it popped off at the holder behind the sound hole. So I got a whole string with nothing to hold it down. Absolute cheap work. I didn't get the designs I wanted nor the quality I expected. If you want your kids to learn guitar like I do mine, go to a local guitar store. That's what I will do.
