Not the best out there, not dourable!

Not the best out there, not dourable!
These are the cheap flimsy ones! There are some really nice plate holders out there and then there are the not so nice, these are the not so nice. They are flimsy and won't last long. They do the job so 3 stars it is, but quality and durability take it down. Not to mention they don't even have flat bottoms, they are roundish!

These will hold only the most basic of paper plates. From the dimensions, I realized that a higher-end plate would have a certain amount of overhang but didn't consider that a problem. HOWEVER, the higher-end plates will not even SEAT within these holders. Completely useless. The quality is also inferior with many broken shoots sticking out, making it uncomfortable to hold or to place on the lap. -- Returning.

These were expensive and very poorly made and a bit flimsy -- they don't hold paper plates completely flat -- we had an old set that was woven much more nicely for a much better price, but I can't find any good one anymore. These are a poor substitute for the evenly woven, more structurally strong bamboo plate holders that we used to have. I just don't they are made anymore.

You get what you pay for. :) They are starting to fray after a few uses but they do the job. Standard paper plates don’t fit inside the outer ring but I don’t need them to. We just need something underneath to give the paper plate support since we usually eat in the living room while holding the plate rather than setting it on a table.

So these plate holders arrived and they look just as awful as their cheaper competitor the FOX POINT plate holder.
I am attaching pictures of my current plate holders that I am down to two of, and these Mainstays plate holders which I am also attaching pics of are FAR INFERIOR.
I hope I can find a better plate holder elsewhere. I see no reason for the price difference between the FOX POINT and the MAINSTAYS as they are both loosely woven and very poorly constructed.

I really liked these Plate holders over other brands that I have purchased. I stay away from the ones from $$ stores. I don't just use these for paper plates; mostly I use these to place my dinner plates, salad plates, bowls, and cups on before placing in the microwave. No matter if I am simply reheating or actually cooking in the microwave I use these holders. I use them with ceramic, glass, plastic, & paper (including paper towels). The holder allows me to remove from microwave faster, easier, and I think more safely than grabbing the pot holders. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not try to use the plastic paper plate holders in this manner...you will still need to use pot holders if you do! The straw is what keeps the heat away from your hands.

I had my previous plate holder for over 30 years, I will be surprised if these last a year! They are too small for the paper plates I use, and they are so poorly constructed. I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased them. Now I'm going to have to hunt for a better quality one, probably pay more, and am just going to toss these away. So sad that companies don't care about quality any more.
