Product description
Product Description
22-year-old Natasha Bedingfield has a voice to melt radios and a decade long passion for writing and singing. Her debut album Unwritten draws on a range of experiences and passions personal to her from battling through the dating game ("Frogs And Princes"), and dealing with the trust issues of falling in love ("I Bruise Easily") to learning how to carpe diem ("If Youre Gonna Jump") and develop the confidence to take life and own it ("Unwritten"). Told from the viewpoint of a young woman with her head firmly screwed on, Unwritten is fuelled by lyrical sass and real-life suss throughout. Musically the album is inspired by a wide range of influences and styles, from the glam rock of "Silent Movie" through the muscular funk of "Single" to the orchestral majesty of "Wild Horses". The result is an album packed with winning songs and no irrelevant fillers.

If Natasha Bedingfield's first two singles, feisty R&B anthem "Single" and chart-topper "These Words", suggested she's more than just Daniel's little sister, her debut album, Unwritten, is the confirmation. Better still, it proves she's a genuine pop star in the making with a staggering tally of potential hits. Aided and abetted by some of music's biggest hit makers, including Robbie Williams's former writing partner Guy Chambers, she reveals the true size of her ambition and potential, squaring up to every female chart icon going. The party hard electro-rock of "I'm A Bomb", the irrepressible optimism of the title track's chorus and "Drop Me In The Middle"'s slinky R&B strut, respectively have her taking on Pink, Nelly Furtado and Beyoncé and showing that she's a worthy contender. Add the slamming Gwen Stefani attitude of "If You're Gonna" with its boybaiting hook of "I'm looking for a guard dog not buying a Chihuahua" and the image of an independent, smart talking bombshell who's no one's pushover is complete. And Unwritten is her flawless statement of intent. --Dan Gennoe

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 June 2007Bold and irrepressible. Full of edge, life and energy. This album captures the innocence and freshness of youth, and reflects a moment of time when everything was falling into place for Bedingfield, when she could be overtly optimistic and enthusiastic while remaining utterly genuine.
Unwritten possesses a whole sound to it that feels completely original. Every track is beautifully and expertly produced. The songs consist of intelligent and inspirational lyrics that avoid all the usual pop clichés, and as a result are captivating and enthralling. Bedingfield is more than just a songwriter, she's a poet who is able to paint such a huge variety of amazing images in your mind as she sings.
But the high quality production on this album is not just down to Bedingfield alone - while there is no doubt she is an extremely talented singer, songwriter and vocal arranger - the entire writing, music & production staff have achieved something uniquely special on these recordings.
This is pop at its very best - the best of an era - if every pop album was this good, I'd buy them all. I think Unwritten should be required listening for anyone studying contemporary music styles. I reach for this album time and time again, and never tire of it, it's one of my firm favourites.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 July 2021For pleasure - just as addition to this - I uploaded the CD to iTunes whereupon my security system wasn't happy with the CD. Turns out that in the CD were embedded advertisements for upcoming CDs. I'm not at all happy about this, particularly as I've paid for the CD and should not have to put up with adverts for other artists. I've deleted the CD from iTunes now and suggest you let your third party seller know this is what this CD carries. Thank you

Natasha i have to give you this one, you've really blown me away and stepped out of your comfort zone, i admire you for that ! i defiantly recommend this album ! you wont stop listening to it no matter how cheesy the words are.. the tunes really make you move ! so if you like a head bopping and a singalong tune this is the album for you !! i recommend it !
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 November 2012sweet feel good song. I bought this song because it was the theme tune to the MTV reality show 'the Hills'.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 June 2013A really good album to have, I always find it hard to make a Natasha Bedingfield playlist, I like all her music, she has so much to offer, but you can't give this album a miss. Apart from the well known tracks, there's a couple of other standout tracks as well, such as "size matters" and "frogs and princes", but also a track not available on this UK release is good, called "stumble". Really enjoyable to listen to overall!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 October 2004This is a must for your CD collection. I can honestly say there isn't a single track on the album that I would contemplate pressing the skip button, it just gets better with every track. If you want to buy someone a CD for Christmas this year, this is the one. Natasha is in a class on her own, it's great at last find a female singer that has such fresh and exciting lyrics. Watch the music awards next year, this lady will win best newcomer hands down. Divas eat your hearts out this lady is here to stay.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 August 2019Love Natasha, every song, every lyric has a relatable or valuable meaning and catchy too 😊 wish she would bring out more!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 September 2004What can i say, this album is brill! Natasha has got an amazing voice! She shows it off in wild horses, which has to be one of my fav songs on the album.'I bruise easily' is also a nice ballad which is easy to listen to. Well all the songs are catchy and there's a real variety of sounds including r'n'b, rap, rock and pop so you won't get bored, and there's also single and these words which are great! So what are you waiting for go and get it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolut Super !!!
"These Words" war von Anfang an ein Ohrwurm. Das Warten auf die CD hat sich absolut gelohnt.Ich wünsche Natasha Bedingfield, dass sie ihren Weg macht. Jetzt können wir nur noch hoffen, dass sich die Radiostationen dieser CD annehmen. Denn die ist es wirklich wert. Mein Tip: Kaufen, kaufen, kaufen !!!
