Ultra HD (4K) Pass-through for Next Generation Super High Resolution Images
This AV receiver provides advanced HDMI® features including Ultra HD (4K) pass-through. Ultra HD (4K) refers to four times the resolution of a 1080p display. While not yet available, Ultra HD (4K) displays and sources are sure to become popular in the future. This receiver is capable of passing the Ultra HD (4K) data from the source to the display for image clarity far beyond present standards.
HDMI with 3D and Audio Return Channel
3D means the receiver can handle 3D signal data. The Audio Return Channel function enables data to be sent and received via the same HDMI cable so you can hear the sound from the TV via a single HDMI cable with no need for an extra optical cable.

HDMI CEC for Easy Operation
Another benefit of HDMI is the availability of CEC functionality. When the unit is connected to a CEC compatible TV, it will turn on and off together with the TV and you can use the TV remote to control the volume. CEC also provides advanced functionality with other components. For example, you can use the receiver's remote unit to control player functions like Skip and Stop.
*All connected devices must be HDMI CEC compatible. Some CEC compatible TVs/players may not work.
YPAO™ Sound Optimization for Automatic Speaker Setup
YPAO analyzes the room acoustics and adjusts various audio parameters for optimum sound in just a few minutes. It's like having a professional installer calibrate your system.
USB Digital Connection for iPod® and iPhone® on the Front Panel
A USB port on the front panel allows convenient connection of an iPod/iPhone, which also charges when connected. Because the digital signal from the iPod/iPhone is transmitted directly to the AV receiver, there is no signal loss or interference so you enjoy the best possible sound quality. In addition, you can use the receiver's remote control unit to operate the iPod/iPhone music playback functions.
SCENE for One-touch Start
Pressing a SCENE button powers on the AV receiver and selects the input source and DSP mode. You can reset the buttons for different sources by selecting a source and DSP mode then pressing a SCENE button for more than three seconds.

Surround Realism HD Audio with CINEMA DSP
Yamaha's exclusive CINEMA DSP technology supports playback of HD Audio (Dolby® TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio™, etc.), providing natural and expansive sound imaging.

Subwoofer Trim for Improved Sound Imaging
The Subwoofer Trim Control enhances the low frequencies by avoiding overlap with the front speaker output. This will result in a cleaner, more focused sound stage while providing a seamless frequency response. When subwoofer frequency overlap occurs in conventional systems, the overall sound is "pushed" toward the subwoofer. Subwoofer Trim Control takes care of this by separating the low subwoofer frequencies cleanly, thus stabilizing the front stage while providing a well-balanced enhanced bass sound.

Compressed Music Enhancer
When music is encoded into a digitally compressed format like MP3, the frequency response suffers. Yamaha's Compressed Music Enhancer employs sophisticated digital signal processing using exclusive algorithms to restore what was lost so the music always sounds the way it should.
Adaptive DRC (Dynamic Range Control)
Adaptive DRC automatically adjusts the dynamic range of the sound according to the volume level. This ensures that you hear clear dialogue and vocals and all sound effects at comfortable levels. There is no need to adjust the volume level as you listen; everything from whispers to big explosions will be heard clearly and comfortably at the same volume setting. It also tones down loud TV commercials and is ideal for low-volume, late-night listening when you do not want to disturb others.
ECO Mode Lowers Power Consumption by 20 Percent*
Yamaha's new ECO mode reduces power consumption by about 20 percent. It can be set from the top of the GUI menu.
*Compared to power consumption when ECO mode is off (Yamaha measurement).
Selectable Auto Power Down
Auto Power Down lets you save energy by selecting to turn off the power after two, four, eight or 12 hours.
Low Standby Power Consumption
Yamaha makes its receivers eco-friendly with a low standby power consumption of 0.3 W.

I would recommend this receiver to anyone looking for an inexpensive yet full-featured and powerful HT receiver but doesn't need Bluetooth.
I've had my RX-V375 for just over two months now and am very pleased with it. The RX-V375 can connect up to 13 components. Input connections consist of: 4 HDMI (back), 5 composite audio/video (back), 2 audio only (back), 1 composite audio/video (front), and 1 USB (audio only in front). That's more than enough inputs for my needs. It was promptly shipped and, though it was poorly packed by Amazon, arrived in excellent shape. Other than dealing with the overall complexity associated with a modern home receiver I've had very few complaints. The sound quality is excellent and very comparable to my previous Sony receivers. The surround sound decoders do a bit of a better job than on my previous units. Of course, this receiver is 10 years newer than my last one, so I would suspect that the newer Sony models have improved in this area as well.
There are a few features on RX-V375 that I've really come to appreciate. I love the fact that I can assign the digital optical and coaxial inputs to the input of my choice. You can preset the volume level of the device to any level when you first turn the receiver on. I've set mine to zero (mute) so whenever I power up my receiver the volume is initially all the way off.
This receiver comes with Yahama's Parametric Acoustic [Room] Optimizer or YPAO. The YPAO setup only takes a couple of minutes and does these things:
1. Detects which speakers you have connected
2. Checks the speaker polarity (phase) to ensure it is correct
3. Calibrates the distance from your set up mic to each speaker
4. Sets the volume level and surround delay as appropriate
5. Determines the size of your speakers (large or small)and sets up bass management accordingly.
6. Sets up equalizer settings to best match each speaker's timbre. That is, it matches the overall
sound quality of each speaker to the other speakers.
In my listening environment I find YPAO's settings to be "spot on"/excellent. The speaker distances are exact and I've not been able to improve upon YPAO's volume or equalizer settings either.
I had no need for any internet connectivity in my receiver as all my HDMI devices have more than enough Wi-Fi and apps loaded on them for my needs. Thus I saw no reason to spend additional monies on the higher end models. This receiver has more than enough power for smaller-to-average sized living rooms. I use a "4.0" speaker setup. (I've no need for a center channel speaker and with very large front and rear speakers, no need for a sub-woofer either.)
As with most home theater receivers, the AM/FM tuner is nothing to be proud about. I find the AM tuner almost worthless with the FM tuner pretty good but possibly not quite as sensitive as in my previous Sony units. The remote is a bit crowded and not back-lit. Otherwise I have no complaints.
I'm optimistic that my RX-V375 will last many years. Even after extensive listening sessions there is virtually no heat generated from this unit. This is the "coolest running" receiver I've had yet.
The bad: I bought this unit because it had component video inputs, which matched my older multi-disc DVD player with no HDMI output. Unfortunately, this signal isn't converted to the HDMI output to the TV, so you need to run component video back to the TV from the receiver, and switch TV inputs to watch.
Also, apparently this unit doesn't play nice with my Verizon universal remote. I've found codes that will turn it off, but not on. According to some user forums, this receiver has separate codes for on and off. Not sure if that's true, or I haven't found the right one, but that's the way it behaves.
