I've been using Lucy's first book for a few years now and i refer to it as my cookery book bible! I have learnt so much from it. Im not great at cooking sweet things, savoury is more my style. But this book has changed all that and showed me how easy it is to make cakes. The chocolate spread cake is amazing! It also give some great tips for those new to bread making, i couldnt believe how easy the foccacia was to make. Nice to have the tips and comments from home cooks too, makes it all feel much more achieveable.

This is better than the great British bake off! Wonderful recipes, and all tested over and over again by Lucy's friends before they were finalised for the book. Many of her friends had never baked before so when they were able to get perfect results every time anyone can even me! My family love the banoffi cupcakes with the liquid caramel centre, truly sinful. And Paddy's beer bread! I'd never have believed it, wonderful.

Delicious and easy recipes. Nice layout. Bit jolly- hockey sticks in tone and assumes a certain level of poshness ( 'when your lavender is in flower in the garden') but all is forgiven when you realise how straight-forward the ideas are and excellent photography.

Just received this book so have not tried the recipes yet. There are so many I want to try, spoilt for choice. They are appear to be straightforward, well laid out and not too many ingredients. I am sure this is going to be a useful addition to my library of cookery books!

This book is fantastic! It pretty much covers everything you need to know about baking. Easy to follow recipes, beautiful photos. My children love it too! So many many delicious breads, cakes and biscuit recipes to choose. We also have Lucy's Food book which is also a must have for the kitchen.

Lovely book - great pictures and nicely laid out. Most importantly, these recipes WORK! I finally baked a loaf fit for human consumption and can't wait to try some more recipes. They all look delicious!

Money well spent!! A must have in a cook book collection. All the recipes are simple and easy to follow. The chewy chocolate brownies are a favourite!! I like the fact that each recipe has comments from other bakers.

I have Lucy's other book which is fantastic so had high expectations for this one. Am most disappointed! Some of the recipes have been copied over from the first one with no proof reading so make reference to other pages or tips which don't actually appear in this book. Seems like it was thrown together in a hurry. If you haven't got "Lucy's Food" I highly recommend it but wouldn't recommend "Lucy's Bakes" to anyone.
