Comes with regular black cartridge and regular color cartridge (not XL size). To save on ink, go thru Settings as usual for any printer purchase, to your desired default. Even for pro ofc work, I still print everything out (except photos), at DRAFT quality. Its more than fine. No smearing from printheads on mailing labels or stickers or envelopes either. Love this gem of a printer.

Yes, I bought it because it was on such great sale, I was worried about the coming Win10 auto updt to all pc&#39;s end-2015. But Canon&#39;s website has all drivers, sw, etc etc you need to stay uptodate, including Win7 thru Win10. They had Win10 drivers in fact since June 2015, six months before auto-updt/installs began. My Canon is the BEST buy I&#39;ve EVER made. Oh, and ink usage is like any other printer - just go thru setup, like with any printer out there - and do &#39;DRAFT&#39; output for everything but photos. Same quality. An xclnt buy. (XL ink cartridges work and fit great too.)

Yes and no.  I used Windows Vista and it would not automatically find and load the driver.  (Vista is no longer supported.)

One reason I got this is to hook up straight from my Canon PowerShot vid-cam to the printer (as printer promo says). The hookup isn&#39;t by mem card slot, it&#39;s by USB plug in (get one for a buck at a dollar store till you can spend the 5 bucks or so at a pc sply store if you&#39;re worried about cable quality). It&#39;s been trouble free. The power cable is more solid than my $500 biz printer. The network cable (again, just a few bucks) that hooks it to our home ntwk is perfect. No jiggle or looseness in the printer plugin at all. NICE.
