Recommended price/performance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop for my daughter, teenager going to 8th grade. She uses for school homework and education online programs, so I did not pay attention to any 'gamer' feature. Then I was surprised to see the solid performance of this laptop with its 7th generation Intel processor and 6GB RAM. My daughter really likes games, and I let her play on her spare time. She is enjoying the touch screen feature for her working and playing. She finds it a little bit too big, but you know how this works, the thinnest it is, the more expensive, so this one is a price/performance best buy.

First laptop and learning.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this fellow for its memory and to save old home vhs movies on. So far have half my collection and only used a fraction of space. Really like the touch screen the associate recommended and it helps because I don't like laptop mousepads. I'll be getting a mouse as soon as 'deal of the day' has a nice one.

Works awsome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I am not a big dell fan. I love ASUS but my ASUS laptop is and dying on me so I needed to upgrade. I was looking around but couldn't find a new ASUS that I liked. I came across this laptop and I actually like it. The reason why I like ASUS laptops is the keyboard and touchpad. I am very meticulous when it comes to this because I do a lot of writing! So when I upgraded to this new dell, it actually didn't feel so bad. One thing I do not like because I am not used to it is the touch screen. Never from day one was a big fan of touch screen. I do not touch my screen at all either so doesn’t make a big difference but when I do try to wipe my screen (when the computer is on) I forget I am actually clicking away. This, I do not like but for others, it’s not bad. Therefore, I give it a 4* because I dislike touch screen. Other than that, I would give it 5*. Spec wise, the specs are what it states. It runs fast and battery lasts me about 4 hours. Note that I have had it for a few months only now. Haven’t had any problems with it. One thing I really like is the speakers. They are very loud and clear! I like this because my old laptop had some weak speakers that were built in. Where my thumb is at are the speakers. They look small but they pack a sound.

Seriously as promoted by Best Buy and Dell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is as promised. Liked the Dell Laptop on the website itself, however after purchasing I don't regret at all!

Worst case scenario for a laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is basically for a child loaded with games and of no use to someone like me who specifically bought it do use programs like Word and Excel I was told that it was in there but did not know that it was a trial program

Nice Laptop for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed something to replace our 7 year old Toshiba that wouldn't break the bank. This Dell fits the bill perfectly, we got it on sale for $329.99. The display is crisp and bright, touchscreen works great, and the 1 TB HD has more than enough storage. We did purchase another 4GB memory stick (it comes with a 4GB and 2GB pre-installed) and we upgraded 8GB for the system. We are sure the standard 6GB would have been fine, but just wanted to increase to improve the multitasking. Overall, it is a nice laptop for the price (just wish it had a back lit keyboard). We have had it for a week and no complaints!

Excellent value for Touch Screen PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this at a 1 day sale price of $299 recently. Based on price, it is an excellent value for a touch screen with the latest 7th Gen Core i3 chip. It is easy to set up and works well. Touch screen is nice. The only con is that when PC is plugged in, the top of the screen immediately turns a bit reddish and fades downward and non-uniform in color. However, it does not do that when PC is on battery. On battery screen colors look normal and uniform. I played with the power settings and it remains this way. I read most reviews before I bought it but did not see anyone mentioning this effect. And I checked with 2 Best Buy stores and their computers acted the same way. But sales people had no idea why. All other PCs (Dell or not) did not act this way. But with this price, this is not too much of an issue. Since I use the Dell on battery most of the time.

Q: QuestionWhere are the complete exact specs & support info/links?! I can't find anything even on Dell.Com. (I tried to find out b4 buying for days, up to last moment of sale, over now. At non-sale price better alternatives elsewhere. LACK OF INFO AGAIN!)
Asked by djreed09.
- A:Answer I finally found more detailed specs & build info, @ Dell support site. Using the device Service Tag, or Express Service Code (from an in store display unit). http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/servicetag/HDMDQF2/ Dell Service Tag - HDMDQF2. Express Service Code - 37828952318. This is the same model. Battery Dell 40Wh (14.8Vdc/2750mAHr). Externally removable (quick release). (Tip to find info about Dell computers is to not include the 1st letter(s) in the model number/ID. Could not find on Dell site until I left out initial letter; Dell support specs dues not include the 1st letter either. Example, this is Dell Inspiron I5566-3000BLK-PUS. Don't include the I in I5566, just search by 5566. In this case, I think I in I5566 is abbreviation for series name, Inspiron. -- Also, for Dell, search by Service Tag, or Express Service Code may work, if normal model, or UPC/EAN/GTIN code search does not find.)

Q: QuestionDoes this laptop have wifi capabilities?
Asked by Grumpy.
- A:Answer Yes, Wi-Fi 802.11n. (Previous generation standard. Not the recent ac standard.) (Not sure if dual band or which bands 2.5, or 5GHz; not sure if supports previous Wi-Fi standards g, a, or b. Not sure about # of antennas (likely 1); or if MIMO support.) Also, wired network port is Ethernet 10/100Mbps. (No 1000Mbps/1Gbps.)

Q: QuestionIs the battery removable? What is the average battery life? Is the keyboard backlit?
Asked by NeedBatteryWithLongBatteryLifeAndForProgramming.
- A:Answer The battery is removable and replaceable if you remove the bottom faceplate. On average, when browsing the Internet, Dell told me that you can push out 13 hours on the lowest power settings when browsing the Internet and about 6 when gaming. The keyboard is backlit with a pleasant red, not overpowering your eyes at night and allowing you to leave it on during the day without making things too difficult to use. It also has three different brightness options: off, low, and high, and is controlled by using the F10 key, or by holding Function (Fn) and tapping F10. You can disable the need for the Function key for the multimedia functions if you like by holding Function and hitting Escape.
