This popper makes popcorn cheaper and healthier than microwave popcorn. It is really great to make popcorn using this popper. Really smooth and faster to obtain excellent results with this popcorn maker. I am a popcorn lover. I make popcorn everyday with this air popper. It is absolutely very smooth and soft to eat. This product is very easy to handle. Instructions are very clearly written. I hope this product should come longer. Overall, this product is really great, nicely made.

So much fun with Air Popper - White Popcorn

I received this product, Presto Electric Hot Air Popper, through the Sparks Reviewer program. For starters, this is my very first popcorn popper. I'm excited. After removing the popper from its shipping wrapping I noticed that there is no on/off switch. So I read the instructions beforehand. So I place a few kernels inside and plug it in. There is a fill to line inside, so try not to pour too much inside at a time. This thing generates a good deal of heat (coming from inside). Seconds later, the popcorn is popping hot and goes into the bowl (bowl not included). Keep in mind the unit gets very hot and the bowl too from the hot popcorn. I expected the unit and the bowl to get hot, so be careful when handling. The butter melter gets very hot and I found it too small to grip with pot holders. To add butter, I just put some in a small bowl in the microwave for a few seconds and then poured it on. Done, overall, the popcorn was popped and the delicious. I do recommend this product. Very easy to set up and enjoy.

Its quick and easy to use.

This is a nice small, manageable popcorn popper. We really enjoy its compact design, as it is very cumbersome to store so many "convenience" appliances in our house. It shouldn't be operated by children without supervision, but it is an enjoyable time to have them watch it work. It heats up very quickly and is entirely done making its maximum batch size within 3 minutes. Its assembly is simple, just mount the chute on top of the machine, top it with the measuring scoop & plug in. The measuring scoop is also doubles as a butter melter if you choose to top it off. Since it pops so quickly it is best to use butter that is already at room temperature. Since it begins popping right after its plugged in, have a bowl ready beneath the chute to catch the popcorn. There is a fill line in the popping chamber or you can use the measuring scoop to load the kernels in. Don't be tempted to over fill, one level scoop yields 12 cups of popped corn. Unplug it upon the completion of each batch. Then use potholders to remove the chute & turn the base over to make sure there are no unpopped kernels stuck in there before reusing. Since it pops without the use oil, the health benefits of a filling snack are at your fingertips. Much easier than using the microwave bags, which let you walk away & sometimes burn at different temperatures depending on the brand. This forces you to stay put and is a safer alternative.

Good popping fun

I wish I had this Presto Electric Hot Air Popper at Christmastime! The popcorn is delicious! It tastes just like the popcorn used to taste at the movie theater. The popper is so simple to use. Just load popcorn kernels into the chute. The kernels cannot have any additives such as butter or salt. The measuring scoop that comes with the popper doubles as a butter warmer (you place it in the compartment above the chute and the butter warms as the kernels pop). After you load the kernels, you plug the popper into the electrical socket. It pops all the kernels in about three minutes. Since the popper uses air instead of oil, the popcorn is healthier than other popping methods. The chute directs the popcorn directly into the bowl. The popcorn is absolutely delicious. The popping sound and the visual of the popped corn going into the bowl brings back memories of movie popcorn.

Delicious and great for entertaining

When I saw this Presto Electric Hot Air Popper come up for a review option I jumped at the chance to have one of my very own! This Presto Electric Hot Air Popper is everything I hoped it would be, and then some! You don't need oil to pop the corn, it relies on extremely hot air and that's it! The top of the popper has a small combination scoop for measuring out 1/3 cup of popcorn kernels and it doubles as a butter melter. I used half butter and half coconut oil in the melter and stir slightly while the popcorn is popping. By the time all of the popcorn has popped, you have a perfectly melted butter topping to pour over the popped corn. It is absolutely no nonsense. You remove the clear plastic top, pour in the kernels, replace the clear plastic top and place the butter-filled melter in the top opening and plug it in. A bowl is placed in front of the Presto Electric Hot Air Popper under the opening and almost all of the popcorn lands right in the bowl. You drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn and toss it to coat the popcorn. It is just as fast as microwave popcorn except there is no worry about it burning like you do with microwave popcorn. It's a great little gadget and I am really pleased that I am now the owner of one.

Good Old Fashioned Popcorn!

I love the Presto Electric Hot Air Popper! It is much healthier to make your popcorn using this product, than microwaveable popcorn methods. The Presto Electric Hot Air Popper uses hot air to pop the kernels. This way you don't have to worry about using oil! That's a wonderful function! I love it! It also makes it so much easier to clean up afterwards. The chute flows the popcorn directly into your bowl so you don't have to worry about transferring the popcorn out yourself. The scoop doubles into a butter melter so it has two functions. I love to eat popcorn because of the fiber and it tastes good. It's a healthy snack to munch on and keep the calories down. I would definitely recommend the Presto Electric Hot Air Popper to any popcorn lover.

Popcorn maker

Popcorn is an obsession for me. I enjoy it so much I frequently eat a bowl for dinner. I cannot eat popcorn from the microwave though, it has to be stove-popped. The microwave popcorn tastes like chemicals to me. I was excited to give this air popper a try. It was easy to assemble out of the box, just snapped the clear plastic hood to base and inserted the red kernel measuring cup into clear plastic hood. I read the directions thoroughly. You simply measure the kernels in the red measuring cup, pour kernels into the center of machine, replace measuring cup and plug machine into wall. No oils needed. The hot air immediately warmed the kernels and within a minute they began to pop. Make sure you have a bowl to catch the popcorn positioned under the hood. It made a full bowl of popcorn and the kids had a fun time watching it pop. The unit itself gets VERY hot, do not touch or allow children to get close. Also, do not walk away as it does not turn off by itself, you have to unplug it. There is no off and on switch, you plug in and unplug with each use. The red measuring cup can melt butter while the popcorn is popping but will only melt butter that is room temperature. The unit cools down fairly fast and only a simple dump of a few un-popped kernels and a dry wipe down is all that is needed for clean-up. The big moment of truth came, yes! It was just as good as stove-top popped popcorn but much faster! This machine now has a spot on my counter next to my coffee machine!

Great Popper!

I received my Presto electric hot air popper in good condition. I proceeded to unpack it with care. After reading all of the instructions warnings, i.e., put in the correct amount of corn (DON'T overfill), do not plug it in or preheat it without popping corn in it or you will likely damage the cover and the butter melter/measuring scoop. So, I put in the popcorn, placed the lid on added butter to the butter melter and plugged it in. As I anxiously awaited to hear it start popping, which it did, I found myself trying to make sure the popcorn didn't start flying everywhere. There were a couple of strays but that's it. I maneuvered the bowl to keep everything on the table and not the floor. It made a nice amount of popcorn. I poured the warmed butter over it, added popcorn salt and enjoyed my popcorn. I don't know that I will use the butter melter in the future. It's easier to melt butter in the microwave oven and pour it on after. The butter melter is no match for the microwave. It tasted better than the microwave popcorn packets but it entails a little more work. It also doeesn't make as much popcorn as I would like, hence, the 4 sttars. I can always put less in but not much more. I'm waiting for the grandchildren to come over. I'm sure they will enjoy it.

Pop, pop, pop, popcorn

Everybody enjoys popcorn, at my house. I thought it would be more economical, to begin making our own, instead of always buying the microwave popcorn. So I was happy to receive this Presto Hot Air Popper, for test and review. It is very simple to use, for one thing. It has a little measuring scoop, which can also be used to melt (soft) butter, on top of the machine. The scoop holds 1/4 cup of kernals. The instructions make it very clear, not to fill past the fill line, in the popping chamber and not to add anything else - no oil, butter, salt or seasonings. It also states not to preheat the appliance, before making any popcorn. Instructions say it takes 2-3 minutes, for the popcorn making process to complete and that is about how long it took, to make my first batch. One batch is maybe four cups of popcorn, which is about the same or a maybe a little less, than what the microwave bags provide. (Instructions are to wait 15 minutes, before popping an additonal batch.) All but 6 kernals popped, in my batch, which is great. (There are usually more unpopped kernals, when I use the microwave bags.) I used plain store bought corn kernals, nothing fancy or expensive and it came out just fine. I added some microwaved melted butter, this time - but will be buying some butter sprinkles, to use in the future. The popcorn was not as hot, as I might like it to be, but it tastes good and I'll be saving money, in the long run. If you feel like having popcorn, this makes it simple and fast. Thumbs up!

Fast and Easy

I was so excited to use an electric hot air popper!! we love movie night at home with fresh popcorn.

However.....
This basic unit of a popcorn popper does not fit the bill.
First, the unit is unstable. It moves while the popper is operating.
You must supervise and keep the unit still as it pops and that is about 2-3 minutes.

Second, the unit does not have an off/on switch! It immediately begins to work the second it is plugged in. 
Meaning - you must have all ingredients close by BEFORE plugging in the unit.

Third- as the popcorn is popping - it will shoot kernels and popcorn out of the popper.
A majority of the popcorn will reach the bowl. The shoot is too wide - needs to be narrowed for more control of the popped corn.
Fourth - does not give the option of adding salt/butter to the popcorn as it pops. Ingredients can be added afterwards.

Two Stars = The ending results are - unflavored, unsalted pop corn. Not bad for healthy conscious eaters.
The process is not worth it.
Not recommend.
