Thank you for your question. The hole in your slow cooker lid is for ventilation which prevents the cover from forming a vacuum and sealing itself to the stoneware vessel as it cools. The slow cooker was calibrated with this cover so cooking times will not be affected.

my guess is, the hole is there for ventalation, so we dont burn our hands when taking the lid off for a smell or taste.

To let out steam. The rubber gasket does a good job of sealing it.

It is basically like stoneware. From my experience nothing really sticks to the inside.

No, it is not but I have found it very easy to clean. I just add a small amount of dish detergent to hot water in the crock pot all the way to the top and leave it on high for a little while and then just wipe anything that is left of with a rag. Hope this helps.

No, it is a glass crock. No coating. When cleaning it after cooking, let it cool then add straight vinegar and dish soap up to the line where it left a mark and let it soak a few minutes. Then wash it normally by hand or in the dishwasher.

The crock inside a crock pot is ceramic able to stand high temperatures, remember it was kiln fired to be made in the first place I would guess, I cannot see why it would need to be teflon coated in the first place.

No, it is not Teflon coated. Teflon is a coating applied to metal surfaces. The interior crock is actually a high quality ceramic stoneware and therefore needs no nonstick coating of any kind.

I love the stay warm feature and the pot cooks well .. It arrived well packaged for shipping and on time .. for such an economical price, you really get your money's worth

Only two drawbacks and one was my own misconception perhaps .. I was replacing my previous crock pot which had actual CLIPS built on each side to LOCK lid down .. Making transporting the pot to family or church meals completely safe from spills ... what you get with this is a heavy duty rubber cord band and while it DOES hold the lid in place .. It is not TIGHTLY and so no seal and spilling occurs EASILY

The lid itself is diappointing .. Very thin and lightweight .. almost flimsy
