    I am having issues with the blender I ordered a couple months ago. It worked just fine up until this week, but now I’m experiencing problems. It’s difficult to know if the problem is with the motor or the lid. When I run it, it doesn’t blend at first and makes a humming noise like it’s trying then it eventually starts smelling like it’s burning. I finally started pulsing it to relieve the friction and have more success, but it’s still not good shape and I’m unable to make my usual smoothies. All in all, it's not a reliable product :(

    Update: Other than the ice issue (and no second cup), I have no complaints. This blender does a fantastic job with basic blending such as batches of salsa, crepe batter, sauces, etc.. I love the minimal cleanup and smaller footprint of this unit as compared to a regular sized blender. It is well made and perfectly suited for many tasks other than smoothies.

    As for smoothies. well ...the description is inaccurate - making smoothies has issues since crushing ice is not recommended by the manufacturer in the manual. Perhaps the motor isn't powerful enough to last over the long term with regular ice crushing. I suppose you could use very tiny ice cubes to help offset the problem. I use 6-7 small ice cubes per smoothie and unfortunately, it does leave small chunks of ice unprocessed. I purchased this based on the description of being a smoothie blender, so I am disappointed.

    I returned this. The first time I used it with just protein powder and almond milk it smelled like it was burning after only 10 seconds. Although online many people asked if it could crush small pieces of ice or frozen fruit and the response was "yes", in the owner's manual it says NOT to use ice or frozen fruit. Very disappointed!
