    I received the book end on time, it was pretty and weighed enough to hold all my journals, textbooks and grad school manuals in place. I docked two points off it because no one ever mentioned that there is ONLY ONE BOOKEND per order. The item name clearly is plural; "Anecdotal Aardvark Whitewashed Bird Bookends". The item image also reinforces this; there are obviously TWO bookends, not one. Plus, the reviews for the products all refer to the bookends as 'they'. I wish I knew that before splurging $19 for just ONE bookend when I could have gotten a pair somewhere else. Horribly disappointing.

    I was looking for heavy bookends, and these definitely fit the bill.
    Each one of these bookends weighs 2.8 pounds. Very sturdy.

    The look is rough-hewn, rather than smooth and polished. As is shown in the picture, they are not solid colored but antiqued. The white has a slight gray tinge to it (rather than a "warmer" beige). These bookends are different from the "average" and look good on the bookshelf.

    The bottom has four felt circles to save your bookshelf surface.

    Height 6.5 inches
    Length 3.25 inches
    width a little less than 2.5 inches

    I'm very pleased with these!

    Should have read the reviews, the product is lovely but you only get ONE bookend for the price. The description really needs to reflect this, currently it's very misleading.

    That said the one I received is lovely and has a good weight. I might purchase another one or return the one I got. It's hard to justify over $60 for a pair of resin bookends no matter how much I like them.

    I love the bookends. They look classy and are definitely heavy enough to keep the books upright. I would have given 5 stars, but it looks like the tail on one of the birds snapped off while it was being shipped... not too big of a deal though, because I can probably just glue it back on.
