I personally would use another product to moisturize my hair first, then use the Care Free Curl to define my curls. Overall, this product makes your hair very shiny and soft once it dries.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Southern Curl Activator  works surprisingly well. To me it's almost like a leave in conditioner. The consistency was pretty decent  and the smell wasn't too bad. I like how it distributed throughout my hair and it did help to moisturuze & define my curls. The only thing is if you are looking to have your curls last throughout the week you will definitely need to pair this with another product and it doesn't pair well with everything.  From what I've seen the price for this is pretty cheap so all in all not bad.

Received my Sample Care Free Curl Gold Activator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although it's supposed to be good for natural styles. It did moisturize my hair which I do believe can help with breakage. It left my hair a little more greasy than I like it also weighed my hair down. Making certain styles harder to achieve.

Not for Me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Curl Free Activator is creamy. I did not care for the fragrance. It is too strong for me. It works well at defining the curl pattern though. However it does not moisturize at all even know it comes with the word moisturizer. I have to add additional products in order for it to be moisturized. Otherwise my hair looks dull and frizzy. It looks like it needs to be hydrated after it dries.
