    First set showed up broken due to poor packaging. The second set showed up with no bronze/gold on them at all. They were basically black.

    I had to go buy some gold paint to do it my self. not sure these are worth the price with the issues i have had.
    The picture: the one on the left is what they both looked like prior to paint. The one on the right is after I painted it.
    Painted the second one and now they look good as a set!

    I agree with the prior one-star reviewer that this do not look as pictured. Mine were also completely dull. Even more so than shown in the prior reviewers picture. No shine at all and felt almost dirty, not smooth.

    Aside from them not looking as pictured, they arrived damaged. It was minor damage of a chip on one and scratch on the other but the resin under is white so these small things were very noticeable.

    These bookends are pretty heavy and decent size. I would have loved them if the finish looked more like what was pictured.

    The package was in good condition. The owls are very heavy and well made and cute. They look great on the book shelf. My only complaint was they were originally said to arrive by the 17th of December and after I ordered them the date was changed to the 28th after Christmas. My friend was happy with them regardless, but it was a bit embarrassing I didn't have them at Christmas.
