Staples In-Store Price Match Guarantee

Staples® In-Store Price Match Guarantee Policy 

Available in store only. 

Staples In-Store Price Match Guarantee — Staples stores will gladly match the price on an eligible product sold in store or online at a qualifying competitor or online at staples.com®. To receive a price match, the eligible product must be identical, new, in stock (for shipping/delivery/pick up at the time of price match request), and available for purchase at the lower price from a qualifying competitor or staples.com. If you find a lower price on an eligible product, bring valid proof of the lower price and Staples stores will match the price. Staples stores reserve the right to verify the competitor, the advertised price, the product specifications, and the availability of the eligible product and we may decline the request if unable to do so to our satisfaction in our sole discretion. If you purchase an eligible product from a Staples store and tell us within 14 days that you found that eligible product at a lower price in our stores or at staples.com, Staples stores will refund the difference.

Valid Proof: If you find a lower price on an eligible product, bring proof of the lower price by providing one of the following and Staples stores will match the price:  

• Qualifying competitor’s printed advertisement, printed in-store signage, picture of in-store signage or online offer from mobile device showing price, model number and features of the eligible product. Screenshots and pictures of in-store or online offers are accepted, provided such screenshot or picture includes a complete description of the offer (e.g., specifications of the product the offer applies to, advertised price, start and end dates of offer, etc.) and such description is legible and verifiable.  

• Sales receipt of eligible product purchased, dated within 14 days of price match request, showing price, model number and features of the eligible product.

Eligible Products: Staples stores will price match a product that is identical (brand name, size, weight, color, quantity, model number and warranty), new, in stock (for shipping/delivery/pick up at the time of price match request) and available for purchase at the lower price from the qualifying competitor. Staples stores also price match service plans and custom printing as follows:  

• For products sold with a service plan, such as laptops and printers, the plan, provider and associated terms must all be identical.

Exclusions: The following products and services are excluded from Staples In-Store Price Match Guarantee and Staples Custom Print Products Price Match Guarantee:  

• Warranties 
• Direct mail services, design services, digital marketing services, shredding services, scanning services, faxing services, computer workstation rentals and self-service purchases

• Promotional products  

• Postage  

• Gift cards  

• Phone cards  

• Tech Services supporting computers, laptops, printers and mobile devices, including without limitation data backups, file transfers, new device setup, software installation, Wi-Fi network setup or repair and computer tune-ups  

• Passport renewal services and TSA PreCheck® enrollment applications 

• Shipping services 

• Ad, price and typographical errors 

• Products on closeout, clearance or liquidation 

• Out-of-stock products 

• The value of a qualifying competitor’s mail-in rebates (Staples stores also will not deduct the value of any gift with purchase)
• Holiday sale offers including Black Friday and Cyber Monday 

• Products offered to Staples Business Advantage® customers 

Qualifying Competitors: Office Depot, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon.com, FedEx Office and The UPS Store. Staples will not price match marketplace products sold or shipped by third parties on a qualifying competitor’s website. Restrictions and Limitations (applies to Staples In-Store Price Match Guarantee and Staples Custom Print Products Price Match Guarantee):  

• Price matches are limited to one (1) qualifying competitor price match per eligible product per customer per day.  

• Staples matches the pre-tax price and does not take sales tax into consideration for price match purposes. Staples will not override sales tax to match a qualifying competitor’s price.  

• If a qualifying competitor requires a certain quantity be purchased to receive the lower price, then you must purchase the same quantity from Staples to receive a price match.  

Staples® Custom Print Products Price Match Guarantee

Available in Staples stores and on staples.com. 

For custom print products, Staples stores and staples.com will gladly match the price on an eligible custom print product sold in store or online at a qualifying custom print competitor.

Valid Proof: If you find a lower price on an eligible custom print product, provide proof of the lower price by providing one of the following and Staples stores or staples.com, as applicable, will match the price:  

• A quote or invoice, dated within thirty (30) days of price match request, showing product specifications and price; or 

• A sales receipt, dated within thirty (30) days of price match request, showing product specifications and price; or  

• A qualifying custom print competitor’s online offer from a mobile device showing the product specifications and price. Screenshots and pictures are accepted, provided such screenshot or picture includes a complete description of the offer (e.g., specifications of the product the offer applies to, advertised price, start and end dates of offer, etc.) and such description is legible and verifiable.  

To request a price match for a staples.com custom print product order, you must complete this form.

Eligible Products: To receive a price match, the custom print product must be:  

• identical, which means all product specifications match the custom print product you are purchasing from Staples stores or staples.com, as applicable, including product size, paper/material weight, color, printing method, finishes, accessories and quantity;   

• in stock (for shipping/delivery/pick up within fifteen (15) days of the price match request); and  

• available for purchase at the lower price from a qualifying custom print competitor.  

Staples stores and staples.com reserve the right to verify the qualifying custom print competitor’s authorization to sell the custom print product, the advertised price, the product specifications, and the availability of the custom print product, and may decline the request if unable to do so to its satisfaction in its sole discretion.  

Qualifying Custom Print Competitors: Any seller or reseller of custom print products domiciled, operating and producing the eligible custom print product in the United States of America.  

Staples may suspend, terminate, update or modify this In-Store Price Match Guarantee policy and/or this Staples Custom Print Products Price Match Guarantee at any time.
