Note 5 on par with LG Stylo

Works as expected. Purchased as a replacement for my LG Stylo as I as was looking for a new phone that wasn't as long as the new Stylo 4. Features are good, still getting used to the S pen but like the compact fit, ease of use and large enough memory for all my apps, photos and videos. Battery life is extremely short. I used to have all day battery life using my Stylo, with the Note I'm lucky if it lasts half a day. Lots of customization features, but came with bloated AT&T software and missing the quick charge feature of the Stylo. Good replacement phone but will probably upgrade back to the Stylo in the near future.

    Battery life needs improvement

Note 5 is a nice phone except battery life lasts about 36 hours even on power saving mode. Samsung should have kept the expandable memory option on this phone. I disabled plenty of apps to open up storage space since I like to take pictures and download music. If you want to purchase a preowned phone within the Samsung brand get the note 4 instead.

  • Great new-to-me phone

Wanted new S7 edge but really couldn't justify the price when my note 3 still worked. My compromise was to get used Note 5 instead for half price of the S7 Edge. Love this phone. Love the size, smaller phones feel ridiculous in hand to me now and this is perfect. Previously had Note 3, Droid turbo, LG G3 before this Note 5 and I love the screen real estate. Phone is fast and I get 10-12h occasional use on a full charge. Sometimes, I get much less, more like 6h when I'm at work if I forget to turn off WiFi because I work in middle of huge factory building with no WiFi so when it is constantly searching for service, that can affect battery life. I mostly am a lite user, social media, flipboard and occasional FB games. Another plus for me is similarity to my previous note so small learning curve. Marshmallow runs like a dream☺

  • Galaxy Note 5

Does what you need, great big beautiful screen, best ive seen, excellent camera, a physically less powerful smaller battery so carry charger, or buy battery/case combo, and final draw back is the absence of micro memory card, a duh? Otherwise, can be had in minty shape for $400 if you shop around.

  • NOTE SERIES.

I've owned every Note since the first one several yrs ago. It's the only phone I'd use. After the Note 7 recall I went back to the Note 5. I hope Samsung NEVER removes the Note line as rumors say after that recall issue on the 7 series because I'd NEVER use anything else. Actually, I CAN'T use anything else. I went to the S7 edge after the Note 7 as I was told it's a Note without the stylus. IT'S NOT. FAR FROM IT. I couldn't even use some info I trasferred because it has was not compatible ( Note only compatible) so I lost ALL MY INFO as I was misinformed by the S7 edge carrier that told/sold me the S7 edge. The ONLY FLAW IS THE 32 AND 64 GIG. IT'S NEEDS EXTERNAL MEMORY OR THEY SHOULD'VE DID A 128 GIG AT MINIMUM. I deal with that annoying me as an android only user. I think Samsung was trying to get the iPhone style and internal storage which that was a HUGE NO-NO.. I think Samsung /andriod outbeats Apple iPhone anyday. iPhone is so slow I get fustrated using my childs iPhone 6 its so slow compared to my Note phones. (No disrespect youre a genius, rip Steven Paul Jobs ...but NOTE is the only way to go!! 8 OR BUST! I'M WAITING SAMSUNG. BOOYAH!! NOTE LINE, THE BEST!! Recall or not, YOU GOT MY VOTE ON THE NOTE SAMSUNG!! #YESSAMSUNG

  • Fantastic overall device

Previously owned a Galaxy Note5, and I loved the device. Decided to get my girlfriend one to upgrade from her Note4. To begin, the most important aspect, the display, is phenomenal; AMOLED 2K 5.7" display Samsung display, what is more is there to say. Fingerprint sensor is fast and reliable, unlike the Note4 iteration; design is comfortable despite its big size. Nice additional features is wireless charging, fast charging is also extremely useful and handy. One issue is that TouchWiz still has a few inconsistencies. The performance is great on this device with the Exynos processor, but the software still has some quirks. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update (which I have on my S7) has really helped with those consistency issues of the UI, unfortunately, the T-Mobile Note5 has yet to receive the update at the time of this review. I forgot to mention the S-Pen, which is extremely handy for notes. Lack of expandable storage via microSD is disappointing however. Feature packed and well designed, with the Note5, Samsung has made a great overall phone that should be on anyone's list, should they be looking to purchase a new smartphone. Just please, Samsung, update and support your devices for more than one year, and pleae update them within a reasonable timeframe.

  • :)

Over all the phone is in great cosmetic condition other then the ding it came with. The phone does glitch such as the camera will start blinking different colored lights while trying to take a photo or video. Restarting the phone fixed the issue so far. Other then that the phone is perfect.

  • Big Galaxy for Big Hands - Note 5

I am 6'9" tall and have relatively large hands. My last phone had a tactile extended keypad with button feedback. I looked for an updated phone that was available for T-Mobile for several months , but found only one, which was unsatisfactory. So my option was to get a large display phone where I could avoid "Fat-Fingering" adjacent characters. The Galaxy Note 5 fit that bill. While I occasionally still have the Thumb Overlap, and a 3 gets an E or a Y gets a 6, I am very happy with the Note 5. There was some initial problem getting my "Bluetooth" telephone earpieces connected; they finally, reluctantly connected. Everything else worked GREAT!!! The one feature that I enjoy most, is the capability to write notes and messages to myself on a dark screen without opening the phone, to be reviewed later. I purchased this phone outright and maintained my 10 year old phone plan, with "Unlimited functionality". This phone will pay for itself in 6 months at today's prices for data, phone and texting. To Date, I am fully satisfied with my Galaxy Note 5.

  • Awesome phone

I'm the type i want quality well we all can't afford the newest top of the line, this phone may have came out a couple years ago, but I'm very impressed with this phone and my girlfriend even is and she like iPhone's, so to me that say's something too. So if you want quality and don't have money for the newest this is a safe bet for you, I even had a perfectly good samsung galaxy 6, I like the notes features, thank you guy's for a great phone

  • very fast with lots of features

Migrated from an i-phone. The phone works great. I like the operating system as good or better than the iphone.I like that my computer see's it as a drive, so moving files on or off of it is as easy as drag and drop. It's not married to an app like itunes. What I've found out though, is that Android Pay isn't as widely accepted as Apple Pay is. And ask google does not work as well as Siri. Siri talks back where Ask Google mostly just gives you internet links. Voice recgonition it better though.
