- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 June 2016I'm a keen healthy cook, and regular gym goer and I bought this book to get some more recipe ideas to keep things interesting. There are lot of books out there at the moment demonstrating healthy recipes and HIIT sessions, but this one is different. In the first section, the guys talk about mindset and having an all round healthy lifestyle, which is crucial to achieve your goals. They also tell you how to work out your macros for yourself correctly, which I think is more beneficial and accurate than using one of those online calculators. They've listed the macros for all of the recipes and they talk about exercises in a non patronising way while still giving key information on form to those who are more experienced. Really inspiring!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 May 2016Received this book on pre order yesterday and sat down all of last night reading it from cover to cover. If you want a book that not only focuses on eating and working out but on also putting your well being first then this is the book for you.
Packed with tips on developing 'happiness' in all aspects of life, goal setting & reducing anxiety to name a few topics covered in the first section you then move onto to how to work out your daily calorie allowances and macros and the importance of the different food groups on our diet followed by pages of lovely recipes, all laid out with calories and macro allowances! Perfect!
The final section is about workouts and lays out lots of different workouts and plans that can be done in the gym or at home along with pictures showing you how to carry out the exercises.
A well rounded, motivating book that helps you look at all the full picture when it comes to wellbeing, health and nutrition. I totally recommend!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 January 2017Great book. Recipes are nice, if a little more involved to make than we're used to. Good section on nutrition and calorie needs. Workouts are mostly weight free and are challenging but not impossible. This book has a very pragmatic and realistic ethos.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 May 2016I actually bought this for my husband but love it just as much myself! The book starts by covering mindset and how to focus on having a positive one which I think is incredibly important. It gives you tools and techniques to do it rather than just talking about it's importance. I love the structured workouts, which have given me confidence that I can 'do it on my own' in a gym weights section full of men! The recipes appeal to my hubby more than me to be fair but they are all straightforward, easy to prep and tasty. A book which I will keep referring back to time and again. Well done guys!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 May 2016What a fantastic book! It's split up into easy to understand sections, meaning that you can take each part at your own pace. Everything is explained beautifully. It's so easy to do, it doesn't make you feel intimidated or uncomfortable. It's like your at the gym or home with two friends having a laugh and talking about health and fitness. If you haven't seen this two guys on YouTube then check them out, the book is a perfect accompaniment to the videos. The recipes are easy to follow and mouthwatering!
Brilliant book guys!!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 December 2016The Feel Awesome and Move Better sections were fantastic. I've been watching these guys on YouTube for a while and they talk a lot of sense. I liked the workout plans in the back - could have done with a few more of them :-)
The cooking section was ok - I feel it is good for someone who doesn't regularly cook and is trying to start cooking at home for the first time. If you already cook a lot, they seem quite basic - but they are still tasty - I made the Sweet Potato Shepherds Pie and it was great!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2016I've been into fitness, healthy (unprocessed food) eating and positive thinking for over a year. I thought reading this book I'll learn something new but all I read was all I knew already. I would definitely recommend it to beginner but not for advanced. 3 stars just because I knew most of it already
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 May 2016This is a great, very well written and good detail. I love the Recipes in this book, normally when i buy a recipe book there are only 1 or 2 that i like and with this book i would like to try them all and cant wait to get started. Well done John and Leon and I wish you all the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST health and wellness book I've ever come across. Absolutely love what these guys are doing.
Been a big fan of the Lean Machines for the past few years and had been anticipating their book for quite a while. I'm happy to say that it is easily the most informative, yet easy to understand, health and wellness book I've ever come across.
The book itself is broken down into three categories : Be Happy, Eat Well and Move Better. Although it offers helpful photos and directions for workouts (focused mainly on compound movements) and some great tasting meals, what I found most refreshing was the intro and BE HAPPY section. These sections encourage readers to understand their motivations and obstacles for getting healthier, but with the positive and motivating style the Lean Machines are known for. For me, this simple inventory has really helped me sustain my motivation over the past few months of using their book.
In case you're wondering, I have seen more gains following these workouts and nutrition than I had seen with years of (what I now know as) ineffective gym time.
One caveat: they use the metric system for recipes and weight sizes so if you're in the states you may need to keep a conversion chart handy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for guys.
I've had this book for a few years now and these recipes have become some of my go-to staples. I got the book because I started working out a lot and couldn't get enough energy from my 'normal' food. The recipes are easy, no fuss but tasty and you don't need any fancy ingredients. Even after having to change my diet due to some difficult food allergies, I can still use these recipes (with some minor substitues here and there).

5.0 out of 5 stars Our bodies our temples.
This is an excellent and modern book about not only our bodies, but how we should respect it. Congratulations both for this amazing easy reading. They show us in a deep way how we can take advantages of a healthier body. I confess that I really take care for aesthetics and now I could see how much I can enjoy this.
