Questions & Answers (219)
- A: It is by design, in my opinion to save on battery juice. Try inverting color, white background black fonts. That way its easier to read outside. My is very easy to see outside now.
Q: Does the wristband have latex in it? (3 answers)
A: The wristbands of the vivoactive HR are silicone.- A: Kimmie23, the vívoactive HR device can be used for training indoors, such as running on an indoor track or using a stationary bike. You will need to turn off the GPS for indoor activities. When running or walking with GPS turned off, speed, distance, and cadence are calculated using the accelerometer in the device. The accelerometer is self-calibrating. The accuracy of the speed, distance, and cadence data improves after a few outdoor runs or walks using GPS. - A: hello - i wear mine in the shower all the time, but i will loosen it a little and ensure that its thoroughly rinsed so no soap residue builds up. also one of the workouts built in is for swimming. it will calculate your laps and speed so wearing it in a pool is not a problem.
- A: I do not know what the display is made of exactly but I do know it is not Gorilla Glass. The screen is prone to developing light scratches. It would not be overkill to use a screen protector or buy a protection plan. Also for a fitness watch, the screen is more prone to accumulating skin oils and smudges more than other brands I have seen, like Fitbit.
Q: Can this watch measure distance when runing ?? (3 answers)
A: Yes, the vivoactive HR will use it's built-in GPS to measure speed and distance when recording a running activity. In addition to speed and distance, you will also be able to view time, pace, cadence, heart rate, and more. When running indoors, since GPS is usually difficult to acquire, the device can use the motion of your arm to measure distance instead. Best Regards, -OA- A: Yes, the vivoactive HR has full GPS so it "maps" your activity and will easily sync the info over to the Garmin Connect App on your phone. you can view all sorts of info from your activity including a map. I also sync the activity info from the Garmin Connect App to my MapMyFitness account all the info syncs over currently except the step count. I then share the info from MapMyFitness to Facebook.
Q: What is the difference between vivosmartHR or the new vivoactive HR smart watch? (3 answers)
A: Kathy, the vívoactive HR includes GPS, a color and bigger display, as well as GLONASS and other performance features like Auto Pause, Auto Scroll, Pace Alert and Time/Distance alert, with swimming features, cycling, Running and Golfing while both the vívoactive HR and vívosmart HR track your steps, sleep, they can also calculate floors climbed, intensity minutes and both connect to a compatible Smartphone via Bluetooth. Essentially, the vívoactive HR is designed with various activity profiles to perform different sports, whereas the vívosmart HR is for a customer who wants to track their steps and receive smart notifications.
