Let's start with the reason I didn't give it the full 5 stars: there were a fairly large number of bugs at launch. However, a good bit of those have already been fixed with more fixes and updates coming.

Ok, now the good. Pretty much everything else. The physics are great. They are difficult, but rewarding. Each car drives differently and has its own personality. Tires are modeled correctly, no longer do you put on soft tires to go faster. Now, pressures and compounds need to be set for the conditions. Speaking of conditions, the ability to have live/changing/variable weather and daylight on every track makes every track feel alive and adds to the immersion. The track list is superior to every other entry in this genre.

To be clear this is a simulation more than a game. There is a learning curve. PCars2 helps you out where it can. Yes there are the driver assists, but it also allows for shared setups so if you are needing some help tuning a car you can grab one you know works.

Graphics and sounds are great. Graphics are not quite up to that Sport game that just came out but they aren't far behind. Sounds are spectacular. The density of sounds when driving is awesome, engine, brakes, transmission, traction control all build to a huge experience.

This is a great game that is only the beginning for what I suspect will be the benchmark and high mark for this generation of sims.

When starting out MANY features are unavailable - can't tell when they do become available. Instructions for game play are basically nonexistent. No indications are given as to how to progress. It is extremely difficult to control the (one) car it lets you use. The control of racing views is confusing and generally deplorable. I am very sorry I bought this game instead of waiting for Gran Turismo Sport. I have played Gran Turismo in the past and found it to be playable and enjoyable. This game is NOT. I find this game non-playable. Too bad this is non-returnable, because I sure would.

I’m disappointed. I came from PCars1 and I was looking forward to the next logical extension, though it appears that they’ve taken a big step back. 1. Bugs: the sound on ps4 is bad, low and flat. I use a bass shaker and there is little useful sound in that frequency. The engine sound is half of the chat level, which makes a simple sneeze from another player deafening. This needs to be fixed and I’m surprised that they haven’t done so yet. Multiplayer just kicked me off after qualifying and restarted the game. Cars are notchy, including mine, yet I have great bandwidth. I’ve had multiple issues with delayed accelerator when using manual with automatic clutch. 2: Driving feel is way off (I use a wheel). Not sure what the fix is here, perhaps practice? If the game was more enjoyable I might be willing to put the time in. Cars just don’t have the right cues at the limit leaving me feeling detached. I would describe the feeling as “flat”. Regardless, it’s not particularly entertaining. 3: Graphics. I expected a small bump over pcars1. So far I’ve been underwhelmed. Road America looks far more realistic in PCars1. 4: Overall Design. Graphic design is a mess (It was in pcars1 too). It’s difficult to find what information is important, and with all of the extraneous “noise” it’s difficult to see which options are hilighted. I would’ve expected more sophisticated graphic design at this stage. My overall takeaway is this: save your money and continue with PCars1. When you’re ready for something new, consider some of the alternatives.

i have been playing it for a few weeks now, so far. it plays ok, i am not use to all of the cars being the same speed more or less, you cant do anything much to the cars to give an edge for your self. graphics seem ok, i have slowed down the AI cars quite a bit to start off with. i like racing and driving on a tracks, not to interested in hyperactive postal racing with AI up high try to get to the top three.
Forza7 and GT Sport, these game will be real nice games.

I am a Forza, Grand Turismo fan. I've played them both and loved them both. I was hoping Project Cars 2 was going to be at that level. I tried playing it with a controller, and it was unplayable. Controller feedback was terrible. There was no feed back for braking, grip, acceleration. I tried to adjust the controller settings, game settings, and car setting. I never felt a difference for mot of the settings. The only affect I could feel, and just barely was by reducing the tire pressure. My advice is avoid wasting your money on this crap!!!!
