      Purchased it as a gift for my girlfriend after evaluating a Chromebook for a long time. It was the right choice in the end, she is happy, hence I am happy.
      I am not a Windows fan at all so I will skip my rant about this OS, I think you can judge by yourself whether you like it or not.

      The item was dispatched quickly and came in a good packaging.
      The laptop/tablet is undoubtedly well made. It has a good balance of weight and sturdiness and you clearly see and feel the quality of the finish when using it. It's just a pleasure to hold it and carry around the house.

      The battery is good, screen is excellent (although a software flaw makes it less enjoyable at times, read more below).
      Also, the charger has a magnetic plug so it's way safer when accidentally unplugging it,

      The same praises can be said about the keyboard. Even if extremely thin it still has a good feeling and appears solid. Only the size of the arrow keys could be improved as they appear too small for my fingers. Trackpad is decent as well.

      The only issue I noticed was an annoying screen flickering, especially noticeable when the brightness is kept low. This is a known issue of the Surface, and it's not hardware related, so it's not a problem with my particular item. A firmware update was sent out by Microsoft, which partly fixed the issue although the sometimes it is still there.

      All in all I definitely recommend the Surface. I think it's a good compromise between the portability of a tablet and the performance of a laptop.

      We purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 (for £549.99) via Amazon UK in late 2016 for our teenage daughter, along with a Surface Pen, priced at £49.99. The device had come highly recommended, and our aim was to buy our daughter something that would see her through her A-levels and subsequent university degree.

      We had no initial issues with the Surface Pro, and our daughter found it especially useful for working out maths equations and chemistry formulas. However, with the unit just outside of its 12-month warranty period, we started to encounter some serious problems.

      First, the Surface Pro developed a condition known as "ghost touch" (see video) - a glitch that took over the screen as if someone else was controlling it, opening software and menus at random and completely without warning.

      We also noticed that an entire strip of the screen had become completely inactive, and was failing to respond to touch of any kind.

      Upon opening up a dialogue with Microsoft, we were advised to perform a complete reboot, which involved downloading a sizeable file and effectively resetting the Surface Pro.

      Once this was carried out, the "ghost touch" problem seemed to go away, however the faulty part of the screen remained completely inactive, suggesting the problem was hardware-based.

      Upon relaying this back to Microsoft, they confirmed the hardware issue and promptly quoted us a price north of £350 to repair the problem.

      The upshot is, we have a Surface Pro that doesn't function properly, elements of the "ghost touch" have returned and we now have to fund another device for our daughter before she starts university in September.

      This was an excellent product while it functioned properly, but now it is sadly unusable and totally unreliable.

      All in all, it is hugely disappointing - not least from a customer service point of view from Microsoft, who flatly failed to see the value this product could have had in terms of our daughter's education. As I said in the title, buyers beware…

You can also stream your xbox one games through it or you can use the xbox one controller to play pc games as well. The only downside I could say is the battery! It drains pretty fast, petty they couldn't have put a bigger one in it
