Far from a budget phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as a phone to hold me off till the Pixel 2 XL comes out. Sold my Unlocked Samsung S8 for this and it's crazy but I like it more than the S8! It's not as fluid but it stutters a lot less and to me the front facing camera is much MUCH better. It doesn't have the nice 18.5x9 ration but it feels like the premium phones from 2 years ago. Either way, I don't think anyone will be disappointed with this phone.

Poor Quality - Lasted 3 months - Back to Samsung
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Moto G5S Plus in February and used a wallet case. In May it slipped from my hand and the screen shattered. I took it in and the repair would have been approximately $200 on a $235 device. I don't think so. I've had my Samsung Note for five years in the same style case and have dropped it a few times overs the years and not even a scratch. The Moto G5S Plus looks like a decent well built phone, but after a few weeks of use, much of it's performance was a dissappointment. It's a bit glitchy at times and photo quaity is poor. I was willing to accept those drawbacks because I liked the feel and for the price, the screen resolution was great. But overall, I am regretful and disappointed in the Moto G5S Plus and am replacing it with better quality device.

Posted .Hi MrsD, sorry you are disappointed. Lags and freezing are sometimes caused by running apps in the background, use your recent apps button to close apps you are no longer using. It is also a good practice to restart the device periodically (at least every 48 hours) to clear out buffers and memory that may lead to intermittent issues. Also, regarding your concern with the photo quality, are you taking those photos outdoor? What camera app are you using? Great Premium-Mid Range Phone.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought this phone as a long time fan of Motorola phones (specifically the Moto G series). As a previous owner of the 1st Moto G, Moto G3, and Moto G4 Play, this phone delivered on my expectations. In this review, I'm going to go truly in detail about what I like and don't like this phone. Let's begin with why this phone is different from the standard edition of G5 Plus. The Moto G5s Plus is similar to the Moto G5 Plus with it's line up of software features. But their are some clear differences that separate the two phones hardware wise. PROS: First of all, the camera experiences are vastly different. Where the G5 Plus had the one 2 MP with Dual Autofocus Pixels, this phone has dual 13 MP rear cameras allowing you to get more depth in your photos. Not to mention how the front camera is 8 MP (the same amount found on most phones around this price range or lower). Because this phone is a Moto G, you're getting a near stock android experience right of the box (sans Moto Actions and Moto Camera). The phone performs great. It's 32 GB of ROM lets's me download as much apps as I like while the octa core CPU lets them all coexist together without any lagging or shuddering. Another cool benefit of this phone is that is comes with Turbo Charging and it's own "turbo charger" that allows me to charge my phone to 100% within half an hour. While some may consider the use of a microUSB port over USB Type C a con, I consider it a pro. I get to keep my 6ft and 10ft cable a little while longer instead of having to pay for some new backup cables. The metal casing of the phone and the wet repellant coating gives the phone a nice premium feel to it that makes it very pleasing to hold. Which is great considering you're more than likely going to have this phone on you most of the time. One last benefit to this phone that I want to bring up that most reviewer haven't is the fact that Moto still has FM Radio available on the phone. In a world where data is king, it's nice to know that if communications are unavailable during a hurricane, I still have a way to stay informed about what's going on. CONS: While I don't consider the charging point a con, I do consider the placement of the phone's speaker rather disappointing. With the Moto G4 before it having the speaker being front speaking, I find it odd that Motorola would opt to have the speaker placed at the bottom of the phone this time around. Luckily Moto decided to keep their 3.5mm headphone jack jack like they kept their microUSB port so I'm not stuck listening to audio at a weird angle. Witch leads me to my next point, the placement of the fingerprint scanner is at the bottom of the phone instead of the back of the phone. Moto could change what direction your audio is playing but not where you place your finger to unlock the phone? Why do thisi Motorola??? Finally, there's no NFC available on this phone which I agree with other reviewers as a strong valid con working against this device. The lack of NFC on this phone really brings you out of the premium feel that Moto created for the Moto G5s Plus. Reminding you that this phone is only the mid-ranger of Motorola and not the underdog flagship device it once was when Moto was rebranding itself back in 2013. All in all, I still rated this phone 4/5 stars. Even with these cons, it doesn't outweigh all the pros that this phones delivers. If you're looking for a good phone that's under $300, I could not recommend this phone strongly enough! BONUS: this phone uses nano SIM cards. If you're switching from the a phone that used Micro SIM cards (like the Moto G4 Play) then you'll need to contact your service provider to request a new one.

Great value and great phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife uses only the basic functionality of a smartphone... email, text, a browser and a few news apps. I generally give her my old, 2-3 year old phone when I upgrade. She was using an old Galaxy S5 when it stopped working. She wanted the same phone, so I bought a new / old stock Galaxy S5. She broke it about 2 months later and as I tried to find another new / old stock phone that was a few years old, I decided to also check out some of the low priced new phones available. I found reviews recommending Moto G5S + and for 250 bucks it seemed like a no-brainer. I picked it up at BBY in about an hour, set it up for my wife and was really impressed. The phone is fast...much faster than a new / old stock Galaxy. It has every function my wife needs AND the battery lasts forever. The screen is nice, the phone is clear and it pulls in signal extremely well. It makes me wonder why people pay 3x for the latest flagship of any phone. Bottom line, this is a great phone, and a great price. You won't be disappointed.

The Best MId Range Phone Available
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Extremely surprised with this "Cheap" Phone. We are talking performance of $700-1000 phones in this affordable device. It's blazing fast and super smooth. Ona day to day use i had 0 hiccups (5 months now) and i don't see this phone slowing down at all. The power sipping processor combines with a decent battery size, has amazing stamina. You won't need to charge it during the day no matter how much you abuse this phone. It can easily last you 2 day with moderate use. Speakers are very loud and clear. Display is above average. Quality and design are excellent. Cell Signal Strength (which we all need to use a phone primarily :)) is typical Motorola - beats most of the phones - excellent reception. Now, what are the shortcomings (shaving $500+) compared to the mentioned "flagships" like Samsung Galaxy, iPhones, etc. It's the camera. In most cases you gonna love the pics , but in low light or catching something in motion it's not gonna make you happy. It's not a bad camera by any means, but it's in a different league - sub-division. Some graphic intense games (not that many available on android anyway) may drop some frames, but nothing to be frustrated with. Software and user experience are amazing. Motorola made sure not to mess with Android at all. It's one of the best optimized phones you can find. Almost clean stock Android. A few features added are the ones you will never wanna lose: twist to open Camera app, chop-chop for Flashlight and the very best notification system - very first and only on a Moto Phone "Active Display". While the phjone is locked w screen off, you get to chose what notifications pop and you can interact with them right away. Because of this features, it's hard to move onto any other phone.

Good phone with some hiccups
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've came from a moto G2 Wich was slow and really laggy. As a medium user, when I got my moto g5s plus i downloaded some social media and I found that this phone has some lags when using Snapchat and huji. Apart from that I didn't have any problem with the phone: it's fast, smooth and the camera does pretty good .

Q: QuestionDo you think 32GB is enough? I use Spotify and normal apps like Instagram, Facebook, etc. Should I buy the 64GB option or that's too much? I hate it when I have to delete photos or videos because I don't have enough space but saving those $70 would be gr
Asked by Andres.
- A:Answer For photos and videos, you can buy a microSD card. A 64gb card costs only about $25. Insert one into the phone and you'll almost never have to delete photos and videos. A 128gb card is also less than $70 I believe, and you get a lot more storage. The 32gb version should be plenty for your everyday apps unless you wanna play lots of heavy games.

Q: QuestionDoes this phone have adds on the lock screen?
Asked by nickhorn2626.
- A:Answer No adds on locked screen or unlocked screen. Its a good phone. This was an unlocked phone (able to contact to different providers) - my Moto G5s is now connected to AT&T, my wife has an unlocked Moto G5 and hers is now connected to Verizon. When RVing it helps having the option of two providers.

Q: QuestionHas the camera dust issue been resolved in this phone?
Asked by lmisty.
- A:Answer I have been asking the same question. That's what keeping me from buying one. If you look back through the questions they gave me a generic answer about this two weeks ago. I have been following a thread that looks like the 1804 are the ones with the problem not the USA model 1806 . They take and have them fixed Two weeks later they have the same problem again!! If the camera does't work on this phone is worth $25.00 about the same price I paid for my flip phone. Until they come on here verify the have it fixed I wouldn't buy it!!! There are to many other phones out there that don;t have these problems.

Q: QuestionIf the screen is scratch resistant then does that mean that no screen protector is needed? thank you
