I purchased two of these cannisters; one is perfectly fine, the other is damaged and absolutely gross. The plastic cover broke with just the gentlest upwards pressure to remove it from the cannister. Then I discovered disgusting black crud all around the outside threads for the screw lid on the body of the cannister. The inside of the screw on mesh lid was pitted and discolored too. There was gray fuzz stuck to the mesh. Going to try to get them to replace it. If they do, I'll update my review.

    I've purchased two: one for cinnamon and one for cocoa powder. They work well. I didn't completely top them up, so I don't know how well these will store powered items for an extended time. If you drop them, or they fall, they can be messy. The best bet is to hold the shaker over a paper plate or towel, when opening them (after a fall). Once in a while, the lid and shaker top conspire in alignment, as to not to easily be opened. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. I may buy again to store a cinnamon sugar mix.

    I bought this to gently and evenly deposit a layer of diatomaceous earth on green sand molds between sides. Not really for foods, but for my purpose, it works extremely well. The thickness is just enough to provide easy separation after packing, but not disrupt the detail of the pattern.
    However, as has been mentioned in some other reviews, the lid comes off entirely too easily, especially when taking off the plastic cap. I'm not sure how formed threads can be so poorly shaped that they are nearly entirely ineffective at doing their job, but now I've seen it. It is actually possible to fail that hard.

    I'll modify the canister to get better thread definition and engagement, but I doubt everyone wants to do something like that. The price was super cheap, but in this case, you get exactly what you pay for. If you'd rather not end up with your entire contents spilling out all at once, find a different product.
