I had this in my basket for so long! We did have the movies already but they are on video & we've had them since I was a child so they are really old & quite battered. So when I found this dvd set I was so excited because my daughter loves these films but hasn't been able to watch them due to the videos being old & battered. These are actually great for price as I've seen them sold seperately elsewhere at like £15+ each so this is a bargain for all 3! My daughter is gunna be so happy when she unwraps this at christmas, she hasn't been able to watch these films for sooooo long! Only thing I'm unsure about is if you still get the Mew pokemon card that you used to get when the film was first released on video. It doesn't actually say if there is the pokemon card included & I don't really want to take the clear film off the case because my daughter will know it's been opened. So if anyone knows if there is a card included & could let me know that would be cool! If not then I will have to wait until Christmas & then let you all know :) The dvd arrived on time & decently packaged so over all I'm very happy with this purchase & I would definitely recommend you buy this for any pokemon lover!

This Collection has all the first 3 movies included, bought it for £23, wish it did have special features like Pikachu's Vacation and Mewtwo's Origins but sadly doesn't. So far just watched the first movie and it's good but you can tell its old as it seems it's just a direct port with little to no improvements in the quality of the movie. However if you're a Pokemon fan then I would definitely recommend buying this as it's on Blu-Ray so it will be in good condition for years to come and you won't need to worry about the disc scratching, Steelbook is solid and comes in a cardboard sleeve it sits in.

11 years old when the first movie hit the cinema- and I was in the movie theatre to see this epic cartoon in full screen glory, along with its sequel! Lol

The DVD packaging is good, standard but the Discs came securely attached- which isn't always the case :/ 👍🏼

The first movie is dark and moody, which I love, all the legendary characters are present in this one, Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu, Squirtle, Charazard, etc... there's no subtitles but the doesn't matter as the sound quality is amazing. The sinister actions of Mewtwo and the adorableness of Mew
take you right back to childhood fun. THIS was when Pokémon was EPIC! The Indigo League(S1), Orange Islands(S2) were airing on tv during this time- pokemania had kicked off with gameboy games, trading cards, sticker books, the works!! So the movie, which has a great message not only for kids but grown ups too (especially these days!) just heightens the memory of those kidulthood days and for kids of now it's just a great movie that lets them know where itall started :)

My fave parts are always the fumbling Team Rocket- the Viking boat "stroke, stroke, stroke... I think I'm gonna have one" is a snort, laugh out loud one liner that is only one of many :D

The second film is equally as Epic, introducing the three Legendary Pokemon, Moltres, Zapdos & Articuno and the great guardian Lugia. Again lessons to be learned #climateChange! And just more nostalgia feel (12yrs old when this hit cinemas!) like the first one it starts off sunny and bright but soon gets gloomy with storms and dark clouds (no complaint- I love it!) there's a swap out of Brock for Tracy (this came out when the series was at Johto Journeys (S4) 👍🏼) There's plenty of action in this one and again the sound quality and picture quality is excellent!! It's a great testament that 17years later I was able to still remember the "prophecy" word for word- Cartoons back then made an impression!!!

As for the third- I never saw that as a kid- but it by no means diminishes the nostalgia nor the love for the movie- it's great to watch even if the original 150 is now hitting ridiculous numbers of Pokémon- can't catch 'em all when they keep increasing the numbers 😋 Lol

The boxset is great and the movies are awesome!! The only point of contention is the missing Pikachu Adventures- never really bothered to watch on the old VHS tape (of the first movie) but the fact that they're completely removed from all the movies and I can't just watch them should I choose, hits home a little :/

Overall it's a great piece of nostalgia for the 90's & early 00's kids and for those who now have children of their own- forget today's kids shows- introduce them to YOUR favourites, cause anything 90's tv/movie for kids was EPIC, AWESOME & TIMELESS!! They'll love it too!!

    Ahh the nostalgia...

I have been watching and playing Pokemon since day 1, my very first Pokemon was a charmander, she was great, bit of a show off but she backed it up in the arena. The original films had so much heart in them, something I feel that has either been lost or overplayed in the newer films to the point where it seems a bit cheesy and unoriginal. The first film is and always will be iconic and i’ so happy it’s been rereleased, definitely worth buying for all fans!

All three films are ones I grew up with and there were many great points made in them that I did not comprehend until I got older. Worth the re-watch if you are on the fence about it like I was .
