Amazon #1 Author Ranking: What others have to say
“I am a serious fan of this woman's work on Paleo. I attended a house-warming party three weeks ago, and bumped into a friend I had not seen in a few months. He looked incredibly fit - I asked what he has been doing to get into such great shape. He said, “I’ve been on a Paleo diet - I feel better than I have in years...and I've lost 30 pounds." That certainly caught my attention.
Beth Gabriel has a knack for releasing just the right book at just the right time, and "Paleo Gluten Free Cooker Recipes: Crock Pot Easy and Delicious..." proves it once again.
The "Easy Crockpot Chicken Salsa" is a FANTASTIC recipe! The "Chorizo Stuffed Poblano Peppers" is a HEALTHY and EASY solution for football fans on a lazy Sunday (or anytime).
Two Thumbs Up - way up!" Brock Allen

- Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2016I have celiac disease so maintaining a gluten free diet is a must. There are loads of gluten free prepackaged foods available these days but the problem with them is that most are not healthy. Most store bought gluten free breads have more calories per slice than breads made with wheat. The same is true for store bought gluten free pasta, crackers, cookies, etc. I don't know why so many of those products add extra sugar and fat to make up for the lack of gluten because it is possible to make perfectly delicious gluten free food that is also healthy.
So I am always looking for new recipes for tasty and healthy gluten free dishes. This book delivers those. Though I have only tried a handful of the 28 recipes included, those I have made so far have been both delicious and simple to make.
-The pizza lasagna was a perfect meal to warm up a cold and dreary evening. I used ground turkey instead of ground beef and added fresh basil and garlic. I also used sliced sharp provolone cheese on top because eating dairy does not cause me any problems but I am sure it would also be good without the cheese. Serving this is more like serving a layered chili than either a pizza or a lasagna, and I would not say it tasted much like pizza but it was very tasty. My wife and I had leftovers for several days and the flavor just got better each day.
-The salsa chicken is so easy to make as to be a no brainer. Toss four ingredients in the crock pot before work, come home to the smell of a delicious meal. I think cooking with the salsa all day must have tenderized the chicken because it just fell apart when I shredded it. I halved the recipe and used a smaller crockpot because I was just cooking for two and it turned out perfectly. I combined the shredded chicken with black beans and then scooped the chicken/bean mix into Bibb lettuce leaves with a mild mango salsa on top to make spicy lettuce wraps. Even halving the recipe, there was enough left over for one of us to have lunch the next day.
-I made the lemon garlic chicken with boneless chicken breasts instead of a whole chicken. The chicken breasts were done after 2 hours. At first I balked at including 30-40 cloves of garlic--that is a LOT of garlic--but am glad I followed the recipe because the garlic flavor in the chicken was perfect. Even my wife, who is not a big fan of citrus flavor in cooked foods, said this was good and "not too lemony."
Two concerns to share: although the title says it is a book of slow cooker recipes, only 7 of the 28 included recipes were for use with slow cookers. Also, there were a number of typos/grammatical errors in the book that made it less enjoyable to read. While these issues might warrant a lower rating for a book that was expensive, this book was available for free on kindle so I didn't mind overlooking those shortcomings. I certainly felt reading the book was worth my time and some of the recipes have been added to our regular meal rotation.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2016My family has recently started eating a Paleo diet. The first week is the hardest – trying to figure out what you can and can’t have and then getting through the sugar cravings…Ugh! But after that first week was over, I saw some dramatic results. My pain was gone – I could get up in the morning without feeling like my body was going to break. Hmmm…ok – let’s keep this going and see what else happens.
The second week was a bit easier. I was able to decipher and navigate my way to make some delicious family favorites, as well as continue to try some new recipes with some very strange and ingredients, foreign to my repertoire. Coconut milk and cream, unusual flours – almond, coconut, and tapioca…fish sauce in pot roast – say WHAAAAT??? To my surprise, it was delicious! So I set off with a commitment to re-learning how to cook in a healthier way.
Well, then the third week hit. With our busy, hectic schedules in full swing, I needed some fast recipes or recipes I could put in a crockpot/slow cooker and have dinner on the table within minutes of arriving home, versus just starting to prepare dinner.
I scrolled through this book, in search of a first venture. The first recipe I came to was Easy Crockpot Salsa Chicken – only four ingredients – right up my alley for a first attempt. Have you seen the commercial for Dump recipes? You know – Dump Cakes, Dump Dinners, etc. Basically, you put the ingredients in the cooking vessel and cook/bake. It was almost that easy! The family loved it – even my pickiest eater! Success! Since then, we’ve tried Slow Cooked Brats & Sauerkraut – yummy and again, super easy.
The e-cookbook comes with a variety of recipes for side dishes, salads, appetizers, and my favorite – desserts. There are bonus books, meal plans, and shopping lists. And if that’s not enough, there is also a list of recommended books.
I purchased this book at a discount in exchange for an unbiased review. I recommend this book for anyone beginning a Paleo diet, anyone wanting to eat healthier, or for those just looking for some new easy recipes to incorporate in the rotation.

1.0 out of 5 stars No slow cooker recipes!
This is recipes book. And there are recipes of course. Which seem to be "paleo" recipes, although I'm no expert.
But they are NOT slow cooker recipes. In fact slow cookers are hardly ever mentioned in any of them.
Since I was looking for slow cooker recipes (and I did not mind them being gluten free) the title was promising.
Unfortunately there was absolutely nothing for me in there - and I feel kind of tricked into buying it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed it, and the recipes
This is the first Beth Gabriel book I have used. I enjoyed it, and the recipes, tremendously. Beth read clearly and explains the whole Paleo movement very well. My favourite recipes are the Lemon Garlic Crock Pot Chicken and Spiced Smashed Sweet Potato. She has included a Bonus Meal Plan which would be of great assistance to someone new to Paleo or someone who just hasn't got it quite right. I highly recommend this book to anyone contemplating Paleo or those who think (incorrectly) that Paleo does not offer enough diversity.
