I'm using the Bose with both an older iPod or a Toshiba Laptop as needed, either way the sound seems acceptable... surpassing my $45 Logitech speakers which have a sub-woofer. * IMHO these should be sold for $80 tops (online) including S/H. In the end "Durability" beyond the expected Bose quality may make them worth their cost ...I hooked them up 3/10/16; time will tell.

Bought these to use with my computer in my lower level which is used as a family room/workout room. I use them to stream music from my desktop PC. The sound quality is very good/clean and the volume is fine (I'm 63 and no longer need to blow the doors off nor need to crank up the bass to make the windows rattle). They also look great and nothing like their cheap plastic predecessors. I would gladly recommend them.

Bought these to replace older speakers with subwoofer that sat on floor. The issue with the old ones was the separate volume control that kept getting beat up by my granddaughter (knocked off the table). Since volume control is on the front of one of the speakers, it has been safe in my desk environment. Great price for refurbed! Love them.

Maybe my hearing isn't so good but the bass is lacking. I would have/of been more better satisfied with a subwoofer, even if it costs more.

Had a set of companion speakers from 2010 power outage fried them. These are much better and when I hear thunder unplug.
